We have been told different things by different people, including that it could be a faulty sensor and other more sinister things. But what exactly does the error mean and what is it likely to be ? Thanks kona, Mar 10, 2008 #1 alan GEH Member Messages: 544 Likes Received: 0 Location: bury st. edmunds(Cornwall soon) P1405 is a specific fault code to Vauxhall/opel and relates to the position sensor in the EGR valve.
oil sump cleanout and gasket and done a full service including coolant. Car drives like a dream below 60mph, however on the motorway going above 60 https://tapatalk.com/topic/340-corsa-c-uk/510465-corsa-egr-fault-error-code-1606-also-1405 the engine wasn't getting up to 70 very well and once reaching it dropped a little and an error code popped up, "P1616 - Wrong Vehicle ID from Instrument Control Module C-40" Advice on http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=369641 how to proceed? It was welded on and took a bit of persuasion to get off, gasket holder bent a little, but tried my best to reseal it, fairly sure there's a tight seal there now. Also have error code "P1405 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Solenoid High or B1405 Device voltage reference output #2 circuit malfunction."What should I do  Bit gutted as corsa fault code after my first major mechanical job these pop up, didn't seem to do much in the exhaust area, just dropped the exhaust to remove the sump! Would the car be safe for a long journey without causing further damage? mike0491 06/07 #2 First code is normally just a loose speedo clock or ecu not reading key chip correctly. The second one will be impacting performance no doubt. liviu2004 06/07 #3 If it is an Z12XE, I can remove the egr with official vauxhall software. g4vvq1983 06/07 #4 Sounds like a problem with the EGR valve or am i missing something, would cause the problem you are getting, also if its stuck open would effect the idle....if it is that just take it off look at the plunger, spray it with carb or brake cleaner, work it about and put it back, usually cures it....if that's what the problem is...its normally on top of the head or inlet manifold top n/s rear....something like 5 or 6 wire multi plug on....round cylindrical thing....Fred. Meredith2k5 06/07 #5 Will work on the first one this evening, easy job  The car idles well. Really smooth to drive. On occasion it will stall after sta
