! Where should I look to resolve the problem ? Where can I get a diagram of the printer ? Thanks ahead for your help !!!! Respond to this 0 50.2 fuser error hp 4100 Error 50.2 is a fuser warmup problem, most likely you've got an Engine controller 50.2 fuser error p4015 board failure, the ECB switches the fuser on and off. sign in to comment 0 LECC, no, the board you are looking at is the Formatter. What Brian is talking about is the main Engine Board which is sandwiched between the top and bottom half's of the printer. It does sound like an Engine Board problem, seeing as you have swapped out the Fuser. This is a major replacement job, expensive and you really need to know what you are doing. No job for 50.2 fuser error p3015 an amateur. If you wish to have a go at the board replacement, I will be happy to send you the Service Manual plus offer any practical advice I can. However, it is an expensive job and quite complicated. Trev by Trev Pearson on Dec 15, 2004 at 11:44am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Brian, Trev, First ... I want to thank you for your fast reply. I'll see how much the board retails....if it's too expensive, I will probably go for a brand new HP 4200N for under 2K $ (canadian) LECC by unknown on Dec 15, 2004 at 12:05pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Brian, Trev, First ... The early models had a fuser problem too, the films shredded. HP resolved the problem with a modified design to the fuser. Something about endplate angles being wrong. end looked browned, like the heating element was hotter at that end.)This resulted in sparodic vertical creases in the printed paper. Before ordering the replacement fixing film, the company VP requested that I trim off the jagged edge of the film and see if this would 50.2 fuser error 4250 enable the user to print while we were waiting for the replacement fixing film to arrive (haven't

ordered it yet.)I did this (very carefully I thought) by removing the one end cap of the fusing roller then sliding the fixing film off enough to

snip the flim end clean. When the fusing unit was reinstalled into the printer, the printed displayed the 50.2 FUSER ERROR message.I swapped the fusing unit with another one and no FUSER ERROR displayed so the problem IS the fusing unit. (Also installed the http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/25706 suspect fusing unit into the other printer and that printer exhibited the 50.2 FUSER ERROR.)If the fixing film is replaced, will that resolve the 50.2 FUSER ERROR or did I cause something else to fail when I got into the fusing unit? I want to know if I caused this new failure and how so the mistake isn't repeated. Is there another part that now needs to be replaced in the fuser? Maybe replacing the entire unit would be more feasible? Respond to this 1 You have not plugged http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/30652 fully home the 2 electrical connectors in the fuser. Who on earth told you to cut the film down!!! The prints it will produce will be dreadful!! Get a fuser film ASAP and remember the lubrication grease tooRegardsTrev by inkjets on Jul 27, 2005 at 8:36am Add comment Please sign in to comment I had checked the two electrical connections in the fuser before reinstalling the fuser and they were connected (I had not disconnected them at the square end but only at the end of the fuser roller in order to remove the fuser end cap.) Like I said, the idea to trim the ends of the film was the company vice president - I was just complying before ordering the fixing film. He figured that nothing normally prints on the extreme edge of the paper where the film would be missing.Would the shortened fixing film cause a 50.2 error? - MorrisWood 1 The heater assembly comes with a new OEM film installed, and it is pre lubricated. by moe on Oct 27, 2005 at 2:55pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 The shorted fixing film will not cause that error, however, it will never work right since the film will shift to one end or the other causing more problems. I go with suggestion above that the clips on one end or the other are not fully seated or not making contact correctly. If you can not get rid of the error my best suggestion is to contact partsnow.com or depot-america.com and order a replacment fuser assembly on advance exchange.

RE: fuser error with a good fuser hpwizzard (IS/IT--Management) 4 Jan 10 06:45 50.2 is fuser warm up service error. You might want to check the Low PSU in the printer. It has two internal fuses where one is for the fuser heating element (F1). If the fuse is blown, it will generate 50.2 error. RE: fuser error with a good fuser mufka (ISP) (OP) 4 Jan 10 18:31 Fuses are ok. RE: fuser error with a good fuser hpwizzard (IS/IT--Management) 5 Jan 10 05:07 If the fuses are OK we must assume the power supply for the fuser is good and then the isssue would be located on the engine controller board where the fuser heater control is. If the heater control does not send a signal to activate the heating in the fuser it will also generate the 50.2 error if a thermistor is blown.ECU schematics -> http://www.countryfisher.com/images/temp/ecu.jpghttp://www.countryfisher.com/images/temp/ecu2.jpg RE: fuser error with a good fuser mufka (ISP) (OP) 5 Jan 10 13:17 I assume that replacing the ECB would likely fix the problem.Am I correct? RE: fuser error with a good fuser hpwizzard (IS/IT--Management) 6 Jan 10 10:32 Yes, in case the fuser is tested to be OK along with the fuses i the PSU I would assume the fuser heater circuit on the ECU is faulty.
