I ghost error no am always hit with the error 'no dpmi memory loaded'. Is there any workaround for this? RE: Ghost 8 problem with bootdisk TekTippy4U (TechnicalUser) 4 Aug 04 09:45 You'll need to configure the MS-DOS shortcut to the proggie Memory tab to use Auto in the DPMI section (Dos Protected Mode Interface).Or - you'll need to load DOS high, Himem.sys and Emm386.exe in the config.sys file on the bootdisk...like this;DOS=HIGH,UMB;DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS /TESTMEM:ONDEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXEthe /TESTMEM:ON can be omitted or made to /TESTMEM:OFF if desired...review the Msdosdrv.txt file found in \Windows dir. for more info on settings...and make sure these files above (Himem.sys and emm386.exe) are in the dir as listed (WINDOWS) TT4UNotification:These are just my thoughts....and should be carefully measured against other opinions.Backup All Important Data/Docs RE: Ghost 8 problem with bootdisk KyoAD (TechnicalUser) (OP) 4 Aug 04 22:15 I am actually trying to do this on a new machine without an OS. Want to Advertise Here? Solved Error: no DMPI memory in PC-DOS after unsuccessful Ghost reimage. Posted on 2009-06-03 Storage Software Laptops/Notebooks MS DOS 1 Verified Solution 3 Comments 994 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-02 I have a brand new IBM X200 Tablet ThinkPad that I am trying to create an image for a large rollout. We have Symantec Solution Suite 2.0 and I have used the Ghost Console to initiate a task to create the image from the laptop via the network. It begins fine in windows but when it reboots into PC-Dos, it fails and remains in PC DOS. You type GHREBOOT at the c:\ghost prompt and you get: Load error: no DMPI memory. It seems now the laptop is stuck in this loop as it will only boot to PC-Dos, which I am assuming is from the Virtual Partition created by Ghost. So, I have 2 questions: 1) How do I get the laptop out of this loop? 2) I've never seem this problem after hundreds of PC reimages. How do I get by it to image the laptops. Thanks for any and all help. 0 Question by:dmccormi35 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 15 Best Solution byf-king To boot normaly remove the network cable and change the boot device to hard drive as first device.
