I set up a restore area. I have given access rights to the POA, the PO and the user to the restore area. The Character length is not more than 8. It's on a volume on a different server, the name of path is the same as in live. I have restored the whole folder structure. When I open up the GroupWise Client I can access the backup email fine, open them fine, save as rtf and print the email but when I right click and choose restore, it says: error d107, record not found. I have checked all the rights I have 5 other post offices all set up identical but on different servers which I am able to right click and restore with no problems at all the restores areas are on the same server but different volumes I have tried it with a user account and with my account (an admin account) and I get the same error. I also run a GWcheck every week on the entire databases on all Post Office. I have tried several different backups all to no avail. I have run GWCheck on the user and Post Office in the restore area again no use. Has anyone had this error and found a solution? Thank you for your help, Viv Last edited by Vivien; 09-Jan-2015 at 07:39 PM. Reason: Spelling mistake in title Reply With Quote « Previous Thre

This document is intended to provide some background understanding of GroupWise and GWCheck. Although, specifically targetting the D107 Record Not Found Error, this document provides some detail on parent/child message relationships. This is a high level overview and is not intended to provide an exhaustive treatise on the subject. Resolution Let’s start https://forums.novell.com/showthread.php/481293-Restore-from-Backup-error-D107-record-not-found with defining a message. There are basically two types of messages, simple messages and complex messages. A simple message does not contain any other messages. Complex messages contain other messages. For example forwarded or reply messages that include the original message. A simple message and all of its parts are stored in a single message database A complex message contains other messages. A complex message https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7001372 consists of a "parent or owning" message. The attached message can be considered a sub-message or child message. Each attached child message may refer to a different message database. A simple message consists of several parts, To, From, Subject, Message body etc. and may consist of many parts (multiple file attachments). For a message to be complete all of the parts must be present. A D107 error is reported when one or more of these message parts is missing and is no longer contained in the database. Each GroupWise user has a unique User database. In GroupWise 6.5 and prior there are only 24 message databases to be shared by all users on a Post Office. In GroupWise 7.x and newer there are now 255 message dbs. If a GWCheck structural rebuild detects one or more corrupt blocks in a message database these blocks will be removed during the rebuild and those records will be lost. Typically database corruption can be caused by many things. Some of the most common known causes of corruption are (in no particular order) Server abends, Server power failures, Server hardware problems, nics, hard drives
Viv, Just a quick suggestion... Run a GWCheck against said user on groupwise error restore area but only selecting "content" as the check along with fix problems. Don't tick structure. And groupwise error d107 a question...do any of these emails have attachments? download. The service pack release to Symphony 6.0 is dated 2-Apr-2002 - Saving messages using the Enhanced Save As dialog, was not formatting correctly filenames with invalid characters. This has been fixed. - Nexic Signatures in Plain Text mode were showing the RTF formatting codesinstead of just the formatted text. This has been fixed. - When a message view was open, the Categorize, Notes, and RemindMe menu options in the message view Nexic menu were disabled. This has been fixed.- There is a known issue with GroupWise 5.5 EP and later where the HTML window for the message body text in a message view does not work correctly. This problem is due to GroupWise not processing the Windows Messages (WM_PAINT, etc.) in a timely manner. This problem is more visible when Symphony is installed because more system messages are generated in GroupWise with Symphony. Symptoms of this problem are: slow display of text as you type in the message body, opening a message and the message body text area does not show the message but rather what was under the view before it was opened, GroupWise exits unexpectedly, or other unpredictable behavior in the GroupWise client. This issue has been addressed in this service release by having Symphony periodically force GroupWise to process messages in it’s message queue. - If you use GroupWise 6 SP1 and get token error dialogs, then you are using a beta version of GroupWise 6 SP1. Novell added some dialogs to help troubleshoot the token API, which they later removed prior to shipping 6.0 SP1. Please install the shipping SP1 code (30 Oct. 2001) or the FTF listed below and you won’t see these dialogs. - The shortcut bar and header bar can be turned off.- If you have GroupWise 6.0 SP1, you will need to download the FTF from Novell that makes the Nexic context menus appear in the GroupWise c
