upload a new IOS via xmodem but is fails. How
Tera Term
can i get a new IOS on my switch? lammle07-04-2009, 04:08 PMwhat error are you getting? The only way to put a new IOS on that switch is Xmodem. Big Evil07-05-2009, 03:22 AMI tried xmodem with both HT and TeraTerm. HT i get the message prompt "error limit exceeded" (i've tried https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/10155186/2960-os-image three different IOS) With TT it says uploading and just hangs. I get CCCC, then nothing?? lammle07-05-2009, 10:18 AMeither your boot setting are set incorrectly and do not match HT, or the switch flash is bad. Big Evil07-05-2009, 10:50 AMI am pretty sure the switch flash is ok. Whats the best http://www.lammle.com/discussion/archive/index.php/t-1523.html settings for HT? I have read i may need to change the baud rate? Cheers TL.. lammle07-05-2009, 11:06 AMYes, you should change it to 115kbps But, you have to make sure that your router is set to except that speed. If they are both the same and the flash does not except it, you probably do have bad flash. However, it could easily be the settings between your HT and the router. lildeezul07-05-2009, 11:16 AMOn the switch you can type the command SET BAUD 115200. and that should change it. but you will have to start a new session, because of the changed baud rate, and dont forget to change it back to its defualt once done. Have a search on Cisco. Their documents are truly helpful :) Big Evil07-06-2009, 02:02 AMI'll try this tonight chaps, cheers. laptop to a 2924XL Switch. I simply do not understand why I'm having a problem here, but someone else might. Here's the scenario: I have a 2924XL Switch and am using the http://www.verycomputer.com/13_890039c983b96d21_1.htm default HyperAccess terminal emulation that comes with Windows 2000 Professional. I can connect successfully with the switch via a console session. I boot the switch, and receive the following information: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C2900XL Boot Loader (C2900-HBOOT-M) Version 11.2(8)SA3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) Compiled Fri 11-Sep-98 17:00 by rheaton starting...
