Spysweeper could have remove a sypware, which then corrupted the user profile or a file in Peachtree itself. If only one user is having problem, create an a new user profile. If everyone is having the same problem, reinstall Peachtree. Error reading or writing to the file. Select Help for more information."When discussing this with Sage tech support some time ago, they told us to exit Peachtree, delete the file in question, and reconfigure our settings when we re-executed Peachtree. We have i/o error in done this - and about 3 days later, the problem starts showing up again.Does anybody know the exact cause (and a permanent fix) for this problem? CraigStevenson 28 Nov 2008 4:31 AM Cancel 25 Replies walraven 29 Nov 2008 7:08 PM The cause of the problem is that the file is eitherphysically damaged or has a bad record in it. Letting Peachtree rebuild the file creates a fresh copy of the file.If the file got corrupted again then you have some sort of environmental problem on your system. I possible suspect is a flaky network card or a computer that occasionally crashes. A badly fragmented server disk can also cause problems.
