I purchased a replacement on ebay and http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/532987/error-0167-no-processor-bios-update-found-after-upgrading-motherboard/ have installed it.I can't get the computer to boot into windows though and the message above appears. It is an MSI motherboard but for some reason when I turn the computer on it bas an IBM splash page and the bios says 'IBM setup utility'I would like to fix this message but I haven't been able to find any information on the IBM website and I can't find a way http://www.computing.net/answers/hardware/no-processor-bios-update-found-ms6557-with-ibm-bios/84834.html to upgrade the bios.Any ideas or suggestions appreciated See More: No Processor bios update found - MS-6557 with IBM bios Report • ✔ Best Answer riider March 13, 2012 at 07:35:37 "the bios has no advanced bios settings"That's because it's an IBM BIOS. The BIOS settings are "bare bones" to prevent too much user tampering. Do you actually have an IBM system? if not, you do now, lol.http://support.lenovo.com/en_ZA/dow...http://ices-ca.net/H845GV/Herrmes_8...http://premioinc.com/pc/manuals/mb/... See in Thread ↓#1 Jolicloud March 13, 2012 at 06:40:51 MSI make motherboards for various manufacturers, if it states IBM then you have bought an OEM board, flashing with a MSI BIOS will likely render the Motherboard useless.Maybe the CPU is not supported by the board ?Regards issue with XP you need to undertake a repair install as the hardware is different, you may also have to Validate Windows XP again:http://camtech2000.net/Pages/XP_Rep...Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer.... Report • #2 riider March 13, 2012 at 06:56:25 The Hermes 845GL is the MS-6243. The MS-6557 is an OEM board made by MSI for IBM. Hopefully you didn't pay much for it, maybe $10-20? Did you enter the setup utility & configure the BIOS settings like you're being prompted to do? Is your processor being properly identified?Do NOT

Hello,I have Thinkcentre M57 6395-AB5 USFF PC. Decided upgrade CPU from E2160 (M0 Core Stepping) to E8400 (E0 core stepping), as it is stated that E8400 is supported by 6395 system:http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-69254My BIOS update version 54JT22A ibm error 0167 is the latest, downloaded from there (recently 54JT22A version was removed and left older 54JT21A version):http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-69695When I installed E8400, got two beeps and POST error "167 no processor BIOS update found" and FAN goes at full speed (about 5500 rpm all the time). It continues to load windows. In windows environment all seems ok, despite constant full speed fan. Everest shows CPU temperature ~75 degrees C. I have googled for the info, and found out that my BIOS version needs to be updated with E8400 E0 core stepping CPU microcode. Maybe someone can help me with adding E8400 E0 core stepping CPU microcode?Intel Dual-Core E2160 (M0 Core Stepping) info:http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium_Dual-Core/Intel-Pentium%20Dual-Core%20E2160%20HH80557PG0331M%20(BX80557E2160%20-%20BXC80557E2160).htmlIntel Core 2 Duo E8400 (E0 Core Stepping) info:http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/SL/SLB9J.htmlThere are my Thinkcentre M57 6395 BIOS 54JT22A Files From WinphlashBy the way, file in the archive bios.bak is my BIOS backup file made using winphlash.Thanks.
