Ibm Error 243 Ssl Protocol Negotiation Failed
Problem(Abstract) Although WPG is correctly configured for SSL server authentication, the https handshake session with the participant's gateway fails with the following errors: bcg_router.log: - ERROR [SSLPoster] [Gw_243_1] - com.ibm.bcg.util.BcgException: Creation failed javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: unexpected message at com.ibm.bcg.server.util.SocketUtils.getJSSESSLSocket(SocketUtils.java:689) - ERROR [SSLPoster] [Gw_243_1] - Creation failed javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: unexpected message - ERROR [SenderFramework] [Gw_243_1] - First attempt failed: reason: com.ibm.bcg.util.BcgException : Creation failed javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: unexpected message Resolving the problem This problem occurs when the participant https sever is set to ask for client authentication during the SSL handshake. To meet the server's requirement, WPG needs to be configured for outbound client authentication as follows: 1 - Upload the .p12 package in the hub operator's profile as "SSL Client" 2 - Send the public certificate to the partner (who needs to upload it into their own trustore). I have been using Three Mobile Broadband for several months with no problems until about the middle of last week. Now I cannot connect. I've tried Lotus Mobile Connect and AT&T Network Client:- LMC simply times out AT&T fails with the message Error 243 SSL protocol negotiation failed I cannot understand this – I have changed or installed nothing on my machine, and can still access my VPN via dial-up and ADSL. I contacted Three Customer Care and was told they don't support VPN's. My VPN helpdesk are sure it is not their problem because I can still connect via dial-up or ADSL. http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21256475 A workmate using Three also has this problem but one using Telstra NextG is able to connect. Thanks in advance if you can help. I use a VPN to connect to my work computer. However, during peak times such as Tuesday nights I can have problems establishing a reliable http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1035987 VPN connection. To test this, you should attempt your VPN session in a not so busy period such as early morning – 3am perhaps – pun not intended. This can cause issues with VPNs (just google vpn latency mtu). It might be worth experimenting with smaller mtu sizes to to improve your chances of a connection, although be aware that it can also decrease general internet performance if you get it wrong. Thanks, but I don't know how to change the mtu size so I can't try this. I would be very surprised if this is a speed issue – if it was surely I would be more likely to experience intermittent connections. As it is, since mid last week I cannot achieve a connection at any time, before that I could always connect. According to the company help desk, they believe Three may have changed their port configuration. They have provided me with the required port configuration, but how do you get somebody at Three Customer Care to listen and have the port config checke
