Lotus Notes Calendar An Error Occurred While Saving
calendar, user gets "An error occurred while saving: Type mismatch" "type mismatch"; room; meeting; "An error occurred while saving: Type mismatch"; resource; reservation; calendar; "calendar profile"; "preferred rooms" Technote (troubleshooting) Problem When creating a meeting w/a room, only certain users get "An error occurred while saving: Type mismatch". Symptom User gets "An error occurred while saving: Type mismatch" when trying to save and send a new meeting request. Cause Corruption in the calendar profile of the affected user's database. Resolving the problem In at least one case, the mail file was first tested from a different machine, and the issue continued to reproduce. It was initially thought that corruption in the mail template was the root cause, but this did not resolve the problem. Running fixup -F, updall -R, and compact -C had no effect either. To resolve the problem, remove the rooms/resources listed in the preferred room's list and save the changes. The preferred rooms listing is found in the calendar preferences on the Calendar & To do tab -> Rooms & Resources tab If that does not resolve the problem, the user's calendar profile needs to be deleted and recreated. Here is one way to approach deleting the calendar profile document Procedure/Steps to recreate the calendar profile document: 1. Create a new mail message. 2. Select Create > Hotspot > Button. 3. Add a label for the button such as "Delete Profile". 4. Set it to Run > Client. Select "LotusScript" instead of "Formula". 5. Paste the below code into the Click event Sub Initialize() Dim session As New NotesSession Dim db As NotesDatabase Dim doc As NotesDocument Set db=session.CurrentDatabase Set doc=db.GetProfileDocument("CalendarProfile") Call doc.remove(True) If doc Is Nothing Then MsgBox "Profile Document is Successfully Removed" 6. Send this email to the user having the problem, instructing the user to click the button. When user clicks the button the profile document will be deleted. 7. The Notes client will need to be shut down and restarted. 8. When the calendar profile is rebuilt, all preferences are set to default. Therefore, the user will need to re-enable any features set under Tools -> Preferences. Alternative options to delete the calendar profile can be found in TN 1088892 Document in
Modified Calendar Meeting Technote (troubleshooting) Problem Chair of a meeting invitation reschedules it, making modification to the date/time information. When the Chair saves the document an error message is generated. An error occurred while saving: 08:B5 Clicking OK generates subsequent error message warnings. The document eventually closes and the updates are not saved. You http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21444481 try running Fixup, Compact, and Updall - R, but you still receive the error messages. Resolving the problem In this case, the issue was resolved by pulling a new replica of the database. You can use either the Notes or Admin client to create a new replica: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21168346 Prior to creating a new database replica, the original database replica should be removed from the server and backed-up to a storage location outside of the data directory for subsequent references as needed. 1. Select the desired database. 2. From the File menu, select Replication, New Replica. 3. Either specify the server on which to create the replica or choose the path to create it locally. Note: You must have database creation rights in order to create a database on a server. May 2012 | Author: paul When trying to save a calendar entry in the Notes client the following error is displayed: "An error occurred while saving: Special database object cannot be located". This is due to the client being unable to save the calendar entry's alarm information into the folder ($Alarms) - probably due to design corruption. Editing the mailfile design and then resaving the ($Alarms) folder fixes this issue. Add Comment 81. TheMisneach | Thursday, 28 June 2012 Nice Post!
