Lotus Notes Disable Soft Delete
participate Previous Next Subject: Document has been deleted : Archive Feedback Type: Comment Product Area: Notes Client Technical Area: Error Message Platform: Windows Release: 8.5.3 Reproducible: Unknown Just in case anyone else hits these forums for those obscure problems you run into so infrequently that they don't seem to be documented... Had a user trying to archive by clicking on the "Archive Now" option and instead of successfully completing it would throw the little pop up box titled "Archive" that says Document has been deleted. By the time I saw this, there were a number of things done, views rebuilt (Control-Shift-F9), cache cleared, even deleted the archive profile, all the basic trouble shooting. The view issue seemed like a no brainer because I've seen the same basic error when people archive selected, but rebuilding all the views didn't help. Turns out it was related to the Soft Deletions field. The $Softdeletes - simple fix was to open the DB, toggle off soft deletes and then toggle it back on. The only risk is losing your trash (well, it's not a risk, you LOSE your trash, but since you trashed the stuff, one would expect you didn't want it anyway....) After clearing that out the archive worked fine. The problem existed on 8.5.1 and was still there after we updated the client to 8.5.3. I did a complete uninstall and reinstall and it fixed it for a few days now it is doing it again, what is he doing to it? The Problem: Archive File folder is where it should be (C:\lotus\notes\data\archive) If I click on the archive file it self, it https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21795766/Lotus-Archive-settings-Document-Has-Been-Deleted.html will open notes and open the archive. But if I try to open it from within notes it doesn't even see the Archive. Then if I go to Actions>Archive>Settings> (as if I was going to enable archiving) it throws up the following error "Document Has Heen Deleted" What could be the problem? 0 Question by:dalettco Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution bydalettco OK, I blew it all away, deleted the subfolders out of the program files and reinstalled.
