Lotus Notes Error Cannot Open The Web Navigator Database
Internet ERR_EDIT_NO_WEB_DATABASE; pnab; inter notes server; internotes server Technote (FAQ) Question From a Notes client when you access the Internet you receive the following error: "Cannot open the Web Navigator database" Why does this occur? Cause This error occurs when the following conditions are met: - You are accessing HTML on the Internet. - Notes accesses the Internet through a Domino server, also referred to as a InterNotes server. - Notes cannot access to the InterNotes server or the server doesn't have the Perweb.nsf database. In Notes 8.0.x, the option to browse through an InterNotes server has been discontinued. It is possible this error may occur with Location documents created with an earlier Notes release. Answer In Notes 6.x and 7.x releases Notes users have the option to browse through a Domino server (an InterNotes server). If you are using this option, ensure that the server does have a Perweb.nsf database, and that your Location document's "Internotes server" setting (on the Servers tab) is set to the correct server. Note: Your Location documents are stored in your Personal Address Book. If you are using Notes 8.0 or later, or if you are using an earlier release, and you did not mean to configure your Location to browse via an InterNotes server then follow the steps below: 1. In the status bar, on the right side, click on the Location name. In Notes 8.x select Edit Locations. Select the location name and select Edit. Or in Notes 6.x / 7.x select Edit Current. 2. Switch to the Internet Browser tab. 3. Note the current setting for the "Internet Browser" field and then reset the field to the "Notes with Internet Explorer" selection - even if it is already set to that value. 4. Regardless of the current setting, reset the "Retrieve/open pages" setting. 5. If you di
Web Navigator Database" error in Lotus Notes Lotus Notes is designed by IBM as a desktop e-mail client application used for business purpose. All Lotus Notes files are handled by a server named as "IBM Domino". This email application stores all our information in form of NSF files such as BookMark.NSF, Busytime.NSF, Headline.NSF, and Perweb.NSF" & all these NSF files have their own functionality & significance but here, I am discussing in brief about the Perweb.nsf file. A pop up window appears & shows the message "Can not open the Web Navigator Database". This situation gives you a clear warning about the corruption of local Perweb.nsf file. Remedy: - The solution of this problem is so simple. User has to simply delete the Perweb.nsf file and recreate the file to enjoy the services. When attempting to open certain mail memo's from the lotus notes error internet. In some cases, one of the following errors may also occur: "File does not exist" "Could not find any Web Navigator template" "Cannot open the Web Navigator database" Cause Solution This issue was reported to Quality Engineering and was addressed in Notes 6.0. The "File does not exist" error occurs if the current Location document does not contain an entry for the Web Navigator database setting. This setting is found under the Location document tabs -> Advanced -> Web Retriever. To avoid the error, edit the Location document and specify a database name. The default setting is PerWeb.NSF. The Notes client creates this entry automatically. The error "Could not find any Web Navigator template" occurs when the necessary template PerWeb.NTF is not found in the Notes data directory. Either correct the data directory location in the User Preferences or copy the template from another Notes client.
