archive documents using drag and drop drag & drop; drag-and-drop; message archiving; archive messages Technote (FAQ) Question Using the Lotus Notes client, when you attempt to archive multiple documents using drag and drop, the following error occurs: "Notes error: Document has been deleted" This issue occurs in cases where you have, just prior, archived multiple documents using drag and drop. You may also observe that after you archive http://tips4teks.blogspot.com/2011/04/notes-error-document-has-been-deleted.html documents using drag and drop, if you then select documents in that view, the status bar reflects a greater number of documents than are actually selected. For example, you drag and drop 5 documents, and then select 2, the status bar will reflect "7 documents selected". Cause This occurs in cases where the view http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21239051 did not refresh as expected after completing the prior archive using drag and drop. Answer This issue has been reported to Quality Engineering in SPR# CHR6KPSAX; and the Notes client was modified in release 7.0.3 to avoid this issue. Workarounds You can use Shift-F9 to rebuild the view after dragging documents to archive. To revise the mail database or mail template so that this issue is avoided in Notes 7.0 through 7.0.2 and 8.0.x releases, follow the instructions found in the document titled "Document is deleted from both the mail file and archive database when attempting to archive it twice via drag and drop"(1199026). It does not lotus notes matter if the message being replied to is from that particular person; it only matters that the particular person is listed in the address fields when doing a Reply or Reply to All. If you attempt to send a new message to this person, the message is not sent, though there is no error message. Further observation shows that the new message that failed to send was saved as a Draft, but seems to be document has been visible only when viewing the Drafts folder via the Notes Client. You are able to reply to messages from other people in the Domino Directory. This problem does not occur when replying to this particular person via the Notes Client. In a separate but similar case, a user was seeing the "Document has been deleted" warning in DWA any time they tried to send any mail to anyone else via DWA, but not via the Notes Client. Deleting the "inotesprofile" and "inotesviewprofile" documents from the mail file does not resolve the problem. Resolving the problem These problems have been known to occur when the Person document for the problem user was corrupt. The problems described above were resolved by replacing or re-creating the problem user's Person document in the Domino Directory. It was later noticed that users on one mail server could not send mail to this particular person through DWA, but users on another mail server could do so, without error. Both servers had replicas of the same Domino Directory, so the bad Person document was removed and replaced with the Person document from the replica on the other server. In one case, replacing the design of the mail file or replacing the user Person document did not help. The user mail file had to be recreated to resolve the problem

If an archive database exists, try this first but use a different archive database name (just in case Notes wants to recreate the database of the same name with no documents in it.) With the mail file open, select Actions>>Archive>>Settings. This will open the Archive Profile, enter a new database name, you can use t
