Checked the permissions on the file archive.nsf where the archiving rule points to, 661 or http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21591562 rw-rw-r--. Changing to 700 or 777 didn't change anything. When trying to check the archive log, it wasn't accessible either. It turned out that the archive and the log cooperate, the log was still assumed to be on a windows share. Corrected the pad and voila, everything worked again. 5/21/2010 QuestionHi, I've currently set up numerous people on lotus notes and have exported both achieves and address books to the appropriate users and have no issues what so ever and everything runs http://en.allexperts.com/q/Using-Lotus-Notes-1427/2010/5/Trouble-archiving-Error-message.htm as it should except, with one user I have set up, when I have selected emails to achieve, then select achieve selected documents. The error message "File cannot be created" pops https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21924438/Problems-archiving-on-Lotus-Notes-error-entry-not-found-in-index.html up and not allowing the achieve to take place. But if I copy and paste or copy and cut, i am able to write those emails to the achieve. Is there lotus notes any help so the user can archive her emails like all the other users by archiving selected documents? Many thanks Ben AnswerHi Ben, There are several possibilities, why this error message could pop up, 1.) Archive file is corrupt 2.) One of the mails You intend to archive is corrupt 3.) No sufficient rights on the destination folder / Drive 4.) lotus notes error Problems with the log file. I would suggest trying the log file thing first, Go to the archive settings, and check out the last tab, if the create logfile option is ticked, untick it, it usually solves the problem. In case it doesnt, try to create a very new archive criteria, with new destination file, and give it a try, if not even this is helping, Run the compact, updall, and fixup commands on the mailbox, database might be corrupt. IN case of further questions, Please do not hesitate to come back to me. Solved Problems archiving on Lotus Notes - error entry not found in index Posted on 2006-07-19 Lotus IBM 2 Verified Solutions 24 Comments 13,778 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-18 Hi, We use Lotus Domino ver. 6.5 for our email system. Our users archive their email to a network share that is not on the Domino server. Recently some users when they click on Tools and Archive Settings, they get the error "Server Error: Entry not found in index". If they try to use any of the archive options unders "Action", such as "Archive Now", they are asked if want to go ahead but then they get the same error. Thery cannot open the Archive log either. I can open their archivee from the network driver where they are stored so the archive file is still OK but you can't archive any other mail. Some users can access it exactly the same way as before. I did try updall on one of the affected files, I had to run it from the server tasks as I can't get the server console to run. Is there anything you can suggest please? Have you checked your client's permissions to access this server? Do they have the required drive mapping etc. to access their archive? I assume they have manager access in ACL of their own respective archives? Can they read their own archives? Copy documents from mailfile to archive? 0 LVL 63 Overall: Level 63 Lotus IBM 28 Message Expert Comment by:SysExpert2006-07-19
