However, instead of getting the Export dialog box as expected, you immediately receive the error message: "Import/Export not configured." Clicking OK from the error dialog box brings you back to the view and you cannot export the documents. Answer Upon installing, Notes should place lines similar to the following in the notes.ini file. If they aren't present, you receive the error message. To correct the problem, reinstall the client or copy the the following viewexp lines from a working machine. VIEWEXP1=Lotus 1-2-3,0,_xwks,,.wks,.wk1,.wr1,.wrk,,4, VIEWEXP3=Structured Text,0,_xstr,,.ltr,.cgn,.str,,1, VIEWEXP4=Tabular Text,1,_xtab,,.ltr,.rpt,.cgn,.tab,,1, If at least one of the VIEWEXPx lines is present in the notes.ini file, you will receive the initial Export dialog box. However, depending on which VIEWEXPx lines are there, you may not have the drop-down list of the three default export formats: Structured Text, Tabular Text, and Lotus 1-2-3. New Memo Technote (FAQ) Question When a user attempts to create a new memo, the following error http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21085573 appears: "Import/Export is not configured". Selecting OK allows the user to continue creating the memo. Answer In this case, the user had configured Notes to automatically append a http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21110105 signature to mail messages; however, the signature document was saved with a .DOC extension. Opening the document and saving it with a .HTM extension resolved the issue. If you follow one of my tips, your mileage MAY well vary - Here be dragons :-) Tuesday, 12 May 2009 Lotus Notes 8.5 - File -> Import / Export to Lotus 123 formats Thanks to James for sharing this with me.Apparently, Lotus Notes 8.5 no longer has the ability to import or Export data to/from Lotus 123 .WKS etc. files. However, it's possible to re-enable this functionality by amending NOTES.INI. James has summarized the problem and solution nicelyhere.According to thispost, this was a deliberate change, which is now being reconsidered - which is nice. Of course, they could make symphony do the import/export too, don't you think? 12 May 2009 at 19:04 Dave Hay said... Yes, it's interesting that Symphony can import (Open) .123 documents, but cannot export (Save As) the same :-) 13 May 2009 at 09:08 Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom) My Blog List Aiden's GallyVanting Robot Car V1.0 12 hours ago Thoughts On Cloud Not born on the cloud yesterday: Easing into continuous deployments with blueprints 18 hours ago Application Integration Middleware Support Blog (WebSphere and CICS) How do I setup new or renew RedHat Registration files with RedHat Satellite Server? 5 days ago AIXpert Blog How to determine optimal memory size for a VM from nmon data? 5 days ago collaborationben SSL certificates and TLSv1.2 for Sametime (but also valid for WebSphere) 6 days ago Store and Forward Knowledge Center corrections 1 week ago Living Social カードカードローンの特徴は? 2 weeks ago Kevin Grigorenko's IBM WebSphere SWAT Blog Limiting the Overhead of Java HealthCenter 3 weeks ago Roberts TechWorld Docs 2.0 CR1 iFix 001 - Conversion app will not update. 3 weeks ago Musings of a Software Architect Testing Watson Conversation 3 weeks ago Thomas Hampel Git Push Error : RPC failed; curl 56 SSLRead() return error -9806 4 weeks ago Linux Tips 5 commands you should NOT run. 4 weeks ago Lotus Evangelist See the Future You Want to See 4 weeks ago Joined Up Thinking Javadoc Updates 1 month ago Stoeps Internet Explorer - Edge Mode without SPNEGO SSO 1
