user password; launch; open; Notes; Workstation/Desktop; Install/Load/Run; Issues Running Product; ND6; ND 6; desktop5.dsk; cache.dsk; desktop6.ndk; cache.ndk; desktop.dsk Technote (FAQ) Question You start the Notes R5 Client but after entering your password, you receive the following error message: "Invalid or nonexistent document." The Notes Client then closes. Repeated attempts to start the client after deleting the Desktop and the Cache files have the same results. Answer One possible cause of this problem is a corrupt Location document in the Personal Address Book. Open the Notes.ini file and find the line starting with: Location= Remove everything after "Location=" , then save the Notes.ini file and restart the Notes Client. If the problem was due to a corrupt Location document, the client now will open using the first Location document in the Personal Address Book. If you attempt to switch to the Location document that was originally set in the Notes.ini, the "Invalid or Nonexistent Document" error will again occur. This Location document will need to be restored from a backup or be re-created. It may be necessary to rename the Personal Address Book and create a new one. This may be necessary if the first Location document in the address book is the corrupt one. If it is not the intention that the database be multilingual, then go to the Designer tab of the Database http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21098804 properties and disable the "Multilingual database" property. Tags: Thanks! We'll email youwhen relevant content isadded and updated. Following Follow Lotus Notes 8.5 Thanks! We'll email youwhen relevant content isadded and updated. Following Follow Microsoft Windows 7 I am using a Lotus Notes 8.5.2 client on a Windows 7 computer in a corporate setting with a number of Domino servers, with two primary ones that I replicate between. I just recently had my OS upgraded from Windows XP. Nothing else changed, as far as I know, with my Lotus Notes (unless my user file locations changed, or something). I have my Replication settings on my mail file to replicate using one of the preferred servers and then choose among others if not successful. This worked fine (no error) before my OS upgrade. Now, I cannot replicate without getting the error message "Invalid or nonexistent document," and each time it indicates it's failed with the primary server. On top of that, when I go to view the Replication History, it indicates a successful "Send" action on the same server, but also lists "Never received" actions on the same plus other servers. I even successfully refreshed the design template from the primary server. But I still get the same Replicator error. Any thoughts as to what I, as a user without admin. rights, can do on my own? Or, must I contact my company's IT support? If the latter, any advice you might have that I could pass along to them?
