Lotus Notes Error No Mail Service
Service: Mail"; popup; dialog; local; mail; mailfile; service Technote (troubleshooting) Problem User may report that when attempting to open inbox or local mailfile from Lotus Notes, the following error is displayed, No Service: Mail Environment Windows Diagnosing the problem This error had initially been reported attempting to access a local mailfile or when attempting to open the Inbox from a new mail pop-up warning. Steps to reproduce that instance: - open user local mail file in Standard Notes Client mode - make sure the location document is pointing to a local mail file - select Sent folder - create new memo and Send mail to yourself - make sure you have enabled "Display a pop up alert" while receiving new mail - replicate the mail file - user will receive Pop up alert. - select "Go to Inbox" - the following warning error message will be displayed, "No Service:Mail" in Sent folder - click on Reload, it will display "Inbox" document, however, you will not get content of sent or draft or other folder once you click on them - the issue can be reproduced if user receives mail from other users as well Resolving the problem The original issue was reported to Quality Engineering under Software Problem Report (SPR) SCHI8BGFH5; and had been fixed in Lotus Notes 8.5.3. If an upgrade to Notes 8.5.3 or later release is not possible, the following items have been reported to assist in working around this error: a) Disable new mail pop up b) Use server mail file Since the initial report of this warning error message and documented fix above, we have learned of additional instances that might also result in this message's display, such as, when Notes Client finds that it cannot open the mailfile application as specified within the location document in use. This could be due to: - loss of access to the respective mail server as specified in location document - mail server application may be locked or marked 'out of service' for server compact or backup purposes or might be corrupted - if local, the mailfile may have been relocated on the os - if local, the mailfile name may have been changed - possible loss of access to the bookmark link for the mailfile For these

If that still won't work, your solution could be a reinstall of the LN, which takes about half an hour, but it should solve ur problem. 0 Pimiento OP Anthony3892 Jun 5, 2012 at 5:00 UTC I have experienced problem similar to yours several years ago, when we migrate some users from exchange to domino 851. For our case, we found out that the mail template (with multilingual) caused the problem. We just replaced it with the original english design (with folder upgrade), then problem was fixed. Is it a new mailbox ? 0 Jalapeno OP Damien665 Jun 5, 2012 at 5:50 UTC Thanks guys, I've totally deleted the user and recreated them with a new .nsf And I still have the same issue. ...
