Lotus Notes Outbox Missing
Notes at two locations, one at your office on a network and the other at a remote home location. Whenever you switch your location from home to office, you receive the following message even when no mail was sent during the session: "You have outgoing mail pending." You check your mail.box and there are no messages pending. The following checks were unsuccessful: -- Recreating the mail.box by deleting and restarting Notes. -- Running "compact" and "fixup" from a command prompt on the local mail file, personal Names & Address Book (names.nsf) and Workspace. Cause The default "Island (Disconnected)" location had been accidentally selected in Notes which automatically created an SMTP.box database. During the session using the Island location, a message was composed and sent which was deposited into the SMTP.box. This caused the message. Answer In one particular case, an SMTP mail.box was stored locally which contained one unsent message. The pending message generated from the SMTP.box, not the mail.box. The workaround was to delete the message. In another scenario, the message still appeared after the mail.box was recreated and in this case there was no SMTP mail.box. After copying the mailbox.ntf template from another machine and recreating the mail.box again, the problem was solved. REPLICATION AND SYNC TAB Subscribe You can track all active APARs for this component. APAR status Closed as fixed if next. Error description I set up a 8.5.1 Notes client. I created a local replica of the mailfile. I sent mails from local mailfile which were not sent and were left pending in the local mail.box. When i am now using the "Home" location, everytime I access the "Replication and Sync" tab from http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21169038 File -> Preferences I get the prompt "You have outgong mail pending..". However in this tab I do not have the option selected to prompt me. This appears to only be the case with this Home location. Also when you apply a new policy to this user and this user receives the "Notes configuration settings have http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1LO54939 been refreshed" alert in status bar you also strangely get this prompt. Upgrading Notes client to 8.5.2 solves this issue Local fix Upgrade to 8.5.2 Notes client appears to solve the issue Problem summary The problem will be fixed in the next release of the product. Do you want to transfer it now". This pop-up message appears because sometime lotus notes users closes Notes client prior before original mail routed to actual network. So mail does not find the actual network path. What you can do is to close all Outgoing emails from out.box or smtp.box. Still if you dont find anything on it, just make sure that user is connected to mailbox server/online (connection type). This will direct all mails to original recipients by connecting mailbox server. This all workaround should fix this.! Return lotus notes error to top You have outgoing mail pending. Do ...
