The most recent change I made was the addition of 2 embedded views in the default form. I really don't want to roll back (as it would be hard to explain anyhow) so I was wondering if anyone knew what this error could mean. form with one section (SectA) I need to hide in some cases. I compute the condition in the PostOpen event. I use a field in order to save the result (SectAIsOn) of hiding or not : Sub Postopen(Source As Notesuidocument) Call Source.FieldSetText ("SectAIsOn ", "1") End Sub In the section and section's text I use the formula : SectAIsOn = "0" for hiding. The pb is that when I try to access a document it says : "Notes Error - You must be in Edit mode to change the value of a field" Why have I done wrong ? Is there another way to hide the information ? Just test : if source.editmode then Call Source.FieldSetText ("SectAIsOn ", "1") ?a doit suffire ! should be enough... You will also get this message for computed when composed fields. Somehow you need to "expose" the field or change the code to update the backend document and then reload t
