Is Lotus Notes Mapi Compliant
Microsoft Exchange, Office 95, 97 and 2000, and other MAPI-compliant applications with Notes R4 and Notes R5. Known issues using the Notes MAPI Service Provider are listed at the end of this document. The MAPI Service Provider Interface is a way of enabling client applications to communicate with the Domino messaging system via the MAPI subsystem of the Windows 95 and NT operating systems. This MAPI subsystem is similar to the printing subsystem in Windows. As long as the driver for a particular printer is installed, any compatible program can use this driver to print to that printer. Likewise, as long as the Notes MAPI Service Provider is installed, any simple or extended MAPI compatible program can use this driver to access the Domino messaging system and use the Notes Address Books to send mail through Notes. The Notes MAPI SPI, installed by the Notes client, enables the Domino messaging system to be accessible by MAPI-enabled applications via the MAPI subsystem. However, the Notes client itself is not MAPI-enabled. The Notes MAPI Service Provider is updated to the latest specifications from Microsoft available at the time of release. However, because those specifications change with subsequent releases of the messaging subsystem, Lotus cannot guarantee that the current Notes MAPI SPI will support those changes. Therefore, it is best to update to the latest version of Notes when troubleshooting an issue. The MAPI service provider supplied by Notes is for 32-bit MAPI applications. This service provider does not support 16-bit MAPI-enabled applications. Correct Installation of the Notes MAPI Service Provider These 3 processes must be done in order: 1. Install the Messaging Subsystem The Messaging Subsystem is installed via the installation of Exchange or Windows Messaging. This system is installed if there is a Mail or Mail/Fax icon in the Control Panel. Exchange is installed via the Windows 95 installation disks. Windows Messaging is installed via the Windows NT 4.0 installation disks. Exchange did not automatically come with Windows N

The operation is: "Send as attatchment" The Problem is now solved, someone at a notes support forum pointed me to the File "MSVCR71.DLL" that needed to be copied into the System32 and SysWOW64 from the Notes main directory.
