a child dialog box open that you have to dismiss first. So I'm suspicious that there is a dialog box it thinks is open but which I cant see. I have 16GB of RAM and plenty of resources after a fresh reboot so if it is a buffer pool/memory problem perhaps its a GDI memory issue (I used to have those out of GDI memory issues alot with XP and Vista, but never with Windows 7). To fix up the issue run Fixup,Compact and Updall utilities as follows:1. http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd85forum.nsf/DateAllFlatWeb/05744878aa95775385257bb200419304?OpenDocument fixup -f (This causes Fixup to check alldocuments in the database.)2. compact -i -c -d -K (ignore errors, copy-style, delete viewindexes, set large UNK table)3. updall -R If still the issue persists you may go for thirdparty lotus notes recovery tool that recovers all NSF file components and creates new NSFfile with all your contents. How it works find: http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/other/other-aa/lotus-notes/247-lotus-notes-8-5Here is a helpful article NSF Repair Kit for this problem: http://www.nsf.repair/ http://www.itninja.com/question/lotus-notes-error Answered 10/07/2014 by: JaysonDalton Please log in to comment Please log in to comment Answers 1 This is a memory error that cannot be solved by adding additional physical memory. You can google on heap memory to learn more, but in essence, it is a reserved block of memory used by programming languages, and once that reserved block is full, the program demanding the space will be unable to find sufficient heap space to continue. If I recall correctly, the various Windows heaps were 64 k in size, and the usual reason for running out of heap space, is badly written software which does not correctly free up the heap space after using it. Lotus is one of the leading examples of badly written windows software (inmy personalexperience), and it is likely that Notes is the cause of the error. It would be worth checking with Lotus to make sure you are at the latest patching level and also to check in their support forums (assuming they have them) whether this is a known error. You might also want to check that your hardware has the latest drivers, especially the video card/chipset, as one of the heaps that Windows creates is the GDI heap which is

That will ensure there is no activity of the database.if you have the Domino admin console, Pick your server, then tab = Server, tab = Status, and pick on server tasks,. There, you will see if there is any activity happening on the database itself. When I need to perform maintenance, I have excellent success via.load fixup -F dbname.nsf load compact -c -D -i dbname.nsf (the -D discards stuff, so be carefull) load updall -R dbmane.nsf. If all that fails, you can create a new replica of the databse to a different server, delete the original, and then re-replicate back to its original location. 1 Ser
