Lotus Notes Nsd Running Error Solution
Notes System Diagnostic; How to run a manual NSD on a Domino Server Technote (FAQ) Question While troubleshooting a Lotus Domino server or Lotus Notes client issue, it may be necessary to run a manual NSD. How can this be accomplished? Answer 1. Open a Windows Command Prompt (Start-->Run-->CMD) 2. Navigate to the Notes/Domino data directory: 3. While in the data directory, enter the location of NSD.exe (Program Directory) and hit Enter: 4. Once NSD has completed, a message will be displayed indicating the location of the file and you will be returned to the data directory: Notes: NSD is run from the data directory because it may not attach to the Domino processes or, if there are partitioned servers, it may attach to the wrong data directory. Additionally, due to the improvements in Windows 2003 SP1, the "-detach" switch is no longer needed. Additional Information - To see a list of NSD options and commands, open "nsddoc.html" in the data/help directory. I used to get this error message at apparently random times of the day, and I'd often have to reboot to get Notes back.We never did find the cause, but it didn't seem to affect users with newer, higher-spec PCs, so its possible that its related to CPU resources, RAM, etc. RE: error message "nsd is running" killpass123 (TechnicalUser) 18 May 05 04:03 Hi scalie,I had a similar problem with my notes client recently , no sure whether you continue to face the same problem now. Everything Notes that ran on the PC is terminated and the whereabouts of the CPU are recorded. The information is only useful to Notes specialists @ Lotus most of the time. You could try 1. to reinstall the R6 software over the current installation, there might be executables or DLL's corrupted. 2. to rename both the Notes executables directory and the data directory to something else, and install a fresh client. If you installed a new Notes client, before starting the client you can try to move some db's back, like desktop*.* and names.nsf. If it crashes again, then you have to do a fresh install. But first of all, you upgraded the client, but from which version? 0 Message Author Comment by
