Comment by Lars -- June 4, 2013 @ 7:39 PM Reply We did the opposite to resolve the issue of Notes 8.5.3 flashing on the screen for about 1/2 a second then disappearing after inputting the password. We went to the Data folder and renamed the Workspace folder to Workspaceold. We shut the system down and relaunched Notes. It came up clean. We didn't delete any files inside of the Workspace folder. We thank you for the tip and will keep it in mind for future reference. I restarted the system and the error was gone. But now every time I try to launch the application, it fails to open with the above error: "File already exists”. Start the client and see if the issue has resolved. If so, it was a corrupt bookmarks.nsf and you can carry on - if it still happens it is something else so close Notes and put the old bookmarks.nsf back. 2 Jalapeno OP Henry Maxwell Aug 12, 2014 at 9:29 UTC The above might be occurring due to corrupt bookmark.nsf file. The issue can be easily fixed by rebuilding the bookmark.nsf file 0 Serrano OP Paul007 Aug 12, 2014 at 9:31 UTC As Rob said rename or delete the bookmark.nsf file in your Data folder. If it is an older Notes client then you may need to create a new bookmark.nsf on another client and then copy it into the Data folder. 0 Pimiento OP stevesmith2 Aug 13, 2014 at 2:46 UTC Thank you all for your responses. I have deleted the old bookmark file and created a new one but it didn't help.
