upgrade install. The tool is available for Lotus Notes 6.x and higher installations on supported Windows platforms only and must be run by an administrator. Where to find nice.exe The Notes Install Cleanup Executable tool (nice.exe) tool is available for download from the IBM Support FTP site (direct download link provided below). NICE_Tool_Technote_1459714.zip NOTE: The .zip file linked above contains the 9.0.1 version of nice.exe, and it is backwards compatible. You can also find nice.exe in the Utility subdirectory of the Notes install kit. How it works The tool removes various files and settings, including registry setting values, program files, and Notes user data files. It obtains the location of applicable files and folders by searching the registry for settings that contain a "xpdInstallLocation" or "XPD_INSTALL_LOCATION" value, such as the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\Lotus\Expeditor\[UpgradeCode] HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\IBM\Lotus\Expeditor\[UpgradeCode] HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\IBM\Lotus\Expeditor\[UpgradeCode] HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\IBM\Lotus\Expeditor\[TARGETUPGRADECODE1] HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\IBM\Lotus\Expeditor\[TARGETUPGRADECODE2] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM

through add/remove or program and features. Link Below is quote of the instructions: lotus notes install cleanup executable (nice) tool download To clean a Notes or partial Notes install from your Microsoft®Windows®client, complete the following procedure: Delete all folders in the uninstall lotus notes 8 Notes \ except the \data folder. Back up the Notes \data folder and then delete all subdirectories in \data. Do not delete any root-level files from the Notes \data folder. If Notes appears http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21459714 in your Add/Remove Program panel, run the Windows installer cleanup utility located at Microsoft Help and Support. However it doesn't explain how to remove the Lotus Nodes Diagnostics and the new Lotus Notes Smart Upgrade service from your windows services. This is where the sc command comes in handy. To remove the Lotus Notes Diagnostics service, first make sure the services are not running ( actually http://blog.theozzyblogger.com/2011/11/doing-manual-uninstall-of-lotus-notes.html you need to make sure they are not running when you follow the steps in the link above ) Next open a command prompt and issue the command: sc delete "Lotus Notes Diagnostics" and you should get a response: [SC] DeleteService SUCCESS The double quotes are required. However when you do the same for the Lotus Notes Smart Upgrade Service sc delete "Lotus Notes Smart Upgrade Service" you get the error: [SC] OpenService FAILED 1060: The specified service does not exist as an installed service. Even doing a sc query you can't find the service name but it shows in your services. To fix this, right click on the Lotus Notes Smart Upgrade Service and go to properties. Take note of the service name. It says LNSUSvc. Now try: sc delete LNSUSvc and that works with [SC] DeleteService SUCCESS That is it. Hope this helps someone out there! Software Lotus Lotus Notes 8 We are moving away from Lotus Notes 8.5.2 I have a silent install setup, but I have not been able to get an uninstall to http://www.itninja.com/question/silent-uninstall-of-lotus-notes work at all. There does not seem to be much for information on http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/itanswers/unable-to-uninstall-v65/ Notes here on IT Ninja from what I can find but any help with this would be greatly appreciated Answer Summary: For the record, this is what I found to work. I extracted the exe and rezipped the files as there seemed to be a problem in the process of switching from unpackaging the lotus notes exe to using the msi. I renamed the msi to notes.exe for simplicity. Command used below. msiexec /x notes.msi /qn I also wrote this batch script to delete the notes use folder in app data. Script works for XP and 7. @echo off IF EXIST "C:\Documents and Settings\" PUSHD "C:\Documents and Settings\" IF EXIST "C:\Users\" PUSHD "C:\Users\" FOR /F "tokens=*" %%G in ('dir /a:d-s-h /b') do ( uninstall lotus notes IF EXIST "%%G\Local Settings\Application Data\Lotus" rmdir /q /s "%%G\Local Settings\Application Data\Lotus" IF EXIST "%%G\AppData\Local\Lotus" rmdir /q /s "%%G\AppData\Local\Lotus" ) POPD TextFor the record, this is what I found to work.
