Lotus Notes Disable Soft Delete
Traveler) Sign in to participate Previous Next Subject: Document has been deleted : Archive Feedback Type: Comment Product Area: Notes Client Technical Area: Error Message Platform: Windows Release: 8.5.3 Reproducible: Unknown Just in case anyone else hits these forums for those obscure problems you run into so infrequently that they don't seem to be documented... Had a user trying to archive by clicking on the "Archive Now" option and instead of successfully completing it would throw the little pop up box titled "Archive" that says Document has been deleted. By the time I saw this, there were a number of things done, views rebuilt (Control-Shift-F9), cache cleared, even deleted the archive profile, all the basic trouble shooting. The view issue seemed like a no brainer because I've seen the same basic error when people archive selected, but rebuilding all the views didn't help. Turns out it was related to the Soft Deletions field. The $Softdeletes - simple fix was to open the DB, toggle off soft deletes and then toggle it back on. The only risk is losing your trash (well, it's not a risk, you LOSE your trash, but since you trashed the stuff, one would expect you didn't want it anyway....) After clearing that out the archive worked fine. The problem existed on 8.5.1 and was still there after we updated the client to 8.5.3. archive documents using drag and drop drag & drop; drag-and-drop; message archiving; archive messages Technote (FAQ) Question Using the Lotus Notes client, when you attempt to archive multiple documents using drag and drop, the following error occurs: "Notes error: Document has been deleted" This issue occurs in cases where you have, just prior, archived multiple documents using drag and drop. You may also observe that after you archive http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd85forum.nsf/DateAllThreadedWeb/d6e4eff13a36e6a0852579f70054f5e3 documents using drag and drop, if you then select documents in that view, the status bar reflects a greater number of documents than are actually selected. For example, you drag and drop 5 documents, and then select 2, the status bar will reflect "7 documents selected". Cause This occurs in cases where the view http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21239051 did not refresh as expected after completing the prior archive using drag and drop. Answer This issue has been reported to Quality Engineering in SPR# CHR6KPSAX; and the Notes client was modified in release 7.0.3 to avoid this issue. Workarounds You can use Shift-F9 to rebuild the view after dragging documents to archive. To revise the mail database or mail template so that this issue is avoided in Notes 7.0 through 7.0.2 and 8.0.x releases, follow the instructions found in the document titled "Document is deleted from both the mail file and archive database when attempting to archive it twice via drag and drop"(1199026).
