Out of Office agent is in progress..." out of office; ooo; troubleshooting script; troubleshoot; diagnose Technote (FAQ) Question You have Editor access to your mail file and attempt to enable the Out Of Office (OOO) agent. The following message appears in the Out of Office dialog box, and the agent is not enabled: "A request to enable the Out of Office agent is in progress. Please wait momentarily for the server to enable the agent." Why does this error occur, and how can you troubleshoot or correct the situation? Why might a user with Manager or Designer access see this message? Cause There are several reasons why an Editor-level user might see this message appear: The agent is set for leaving in the past ("Yesterday" for example) -- In http://searchdomino.techtarget.com/tip/Troubleshoot-Lotus-Notes-Out-of-Office-OOO-agent-error-messages one case, the agent was being enabled for leaving "Yesterday." Users with editor access are not allowed to enable the agent for a Leaving Date in the past. If you attempt to enable the agent in the past, you will continually see this message displayed in the Out of Office dialog box, and the agent will not become successfully enabled. The user does not have a Domain specified in their Person document -- In another case, it was discovered that the users attempting to enable http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21279483 the Out of Office agent did not have a Domain specified in their Person documents. The solution in this case included all the steps listed below, in addition to adding a Domain to the users' Person documents. There is a wait for the AdminP process to process the request -- In several cases, the Out of Office has been known to eventually become enabled for Editor-level users. Sometimes there can be a delay of 20 to 30 minutes, sometimes hours, between the time when the user clicks the Enable button and when the agent actually becomes enabled. In cases where it is taking a longer time to display with an "Enabled" status, the best solution is to wait, as the most common reason for the delay is a bottleneck in the Administration Process (AdminP) on the server. If it takes longer than 12 hours to enable the agent, then the AdminP process should be analyzed in addition to attempting additional Out of Office troubleshooting steps. The home mail server in the Location document or the Person document is incorrect -- It is also common that the Location document in use at the time of enabling the agent does not match the user's home/mail server. Refer to "Guide to the Notes/Domino Out of Office. Part 3: Configuration of the Out of Office" (#7006537) for additional information and details about the configuration of the Out of Office for all access levels. Answer If an Editor-level user receives this message for one of the reasons me

The server's log noted the following error: AMgr: Agent ('OutOfOffice | OutOfOffice' in 'mail\jdoe.nsf') lotus notes error message: Cannot find external name: TIMEGETFROMITEM Answer Replacing the Design of the database should fix the problem. If the issue still persists use the Designer Client to locate and delete the script library called TimeUtilities in the user's mail file and then refresh the mail file design. The script libraries are found in the lotus notes out listing Shared Code -> Script Libraries. In cases where simply deleting the TimeUtilities script library does not resolve the error, the following steps may be necessary: 1. Using a Domino Designer client, delete these three design elements from the user's mail database: the TimeUtilities script library the Common script library the user's Out of office agent 2. Delete the user's OutOfOffice Profile document via a LotusScript agent (as in technote # 1088892) 3. File -> Database -> Refresh design, to add all the script libraries and agent back to the mail file. 4. Re-enable the Out of office agent.
