SDHC Expert: Himadri replied4 years ago. Unfortunately what you have described indicates that the problem seems to be with your camera memory card thats why you are facing this type of problem. So, first, using a flashlight and a magnifier, if necessary, look into the camera's cards slot to see if all of the pins are straight. If any are bent, you can attempt to straighten them using a small screwdriver. Next, If the pins appear straight, use a can of compressed air to blow out the slot, since a small piece of dust could block the connection. A conventional repair shop may be necessary if the DIY solutions don't solve the problem.I apologize for this inconvenience. Russell A. is online now My PowerShot A430 Canon camera has a communication memory card error This answer was rated: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My PowerShot A430 Canon camera has a 'communication error' and the computer can't find the camera. I've had this camera for some time and had no problems previously downloading images. My computer is a MacBook. Share this conversation Expert: Russell A. replied5 years ago. Hi,Go to the link below. When the Canon page appears select Mac OS X from canon powershot sd600 the drop down box, in the middle of the page that says [select OS] and download and install the Image Browser updater 6.6.0b. This should solve your connection problem, if not please, let me know.http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/digital_cameras/powershot_pro_series/powershot_g9#DriversAndSoftwareIf the update above does not solve the problem, then, with the camera not connected to the computer, use the instructions below to select Reset All in the camera's Setup menu to restore the default settings. Then try to connect again. As an alternative, because of multiple compatibility issues with the camera connections (the camera window function) with current operating systems, my other suggestion is to get an inexpensive usb memory card reader (make sure it is SDHC compatable). You can take your memory card from the camera and plug it into the computer. The card will show up as a folder on the desktop and you can copy the photo files to a folder on your hard drive and view and print them and even Image browser can "see" the card. Personally, I prefer this method due to the simplicity and reduced wear and tear on the camera. If, and only if my answer to your question is helpful and you are Satisfied with it, please click the green Accept button and leave Positive Fe

After searching through some solutions on the internet, I fixed it jamming a thin peice of wire (I used an earring) between the retractable lens and the fitting (i.e., between the concentric circles of the the lens) and then turning the camera on. This worked for me so far. Carolyn. LOG IN TO REPLY DavidWDavidWGoldmember3,165 postsJoined Jul 2005Bedfordshire, UKMore infoSep 25, 2007 14:21|#4This is a really old thread now (look at the dates). However, I wouldn't attempt any sort of DIY repair on a camera that's in warranty - as it should be if it's less than a year old. Call Canon and get it sorted. If the camera is out of warranty, then the sort of repair you describe is worthwhile, Carolyn - though you may be able to recentre the lens stack without jamming anything in. Be gentle - and you may get a pleasant surprise.David LOG IN TO REPLY 4 posts, 1 page 110,137 views & 0 likes for this threadcanon powershot a430 - lens error restart cameraFORUMS ➔ Canon Cameras, Lenses & Accessories ➔ Small Compact
