Canon Memory Card Error Fix
I was taking a photo on my Canon PowerShot A60 when I ran out of bateries, I changed the bateries but now I get a memorycard error Corrupted data. I can still access my other photos http://www.fixya.com/search/p294014-canon_powershot_a60_digital_camera/memory_card_error but I can't take any photos.I tried to format the card but the camera just gives me an E50 and then it turns off. When examining the contents of the card on my computer I found a .bmp file with the name of the last photo I had taken, I tried to delete it but it seem that the card is in read only mode.Does anyone has a clue how can I format http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11974 the card? Would a CF card reader do the job? Any easier way?tnkx in advance LOG IN TO REPLY arun_juntaarun_juntaHatchling2 postsJoined Jul 2003More infoJul 29, 2003 22:55|#2I've a similar problem. can i fix this error without a card reader but just a recovery software? "Tts odd"I think. So I try turn off the camera, remove the card re-insert, nothing. I removed the battery and almost all the stuff in a bunch of different dequences... still nothing.Thinking the card is currupt (a Sandisk 256) I put in the stock Canon 32... still the same error... I'm assuming it's now the camera... no idea what happened to it though..Any help would be very appriciative! Everything seems to work at first, but after a while the memory card error message starts appearing here and there when browsing through the photos afterwards. After formatting etc several times I figured the card (CF 256) was corrupt, so I had it exchanged where I bought it. The new card seemed to work a little better at first, but now I'm starting to get corrupt photos again, and today 5 photos just disappeared completely when I wanted to transfer them with a card reader. So now I'm starting to suspect the camera. Or is it just me? Don't see what I could be doing wrong, I'm being really careful, but I have no previous experience of digital cameras, so I don't know... I can't go back and change cards AGAIN... Perhaps I should contact Canon instead?-PatZach S. wrote:I own a Canon 10D and just got an S400 yesterday so I would have something small to carry around. It was working fine all day, then I turn it on "Memory card error"...
