They are installing successfully, but LANDesk is reporting them as failed. I have added the return code 16385 to the Default MSI Template's Package return code mappings (see image), but the task is still showing as failed with code 16385.Do I need to re-create the task, or somehow tell it to use the updated return code mappings? Re: Return Code Mapping in v9 PaulYates May 25, 2010 8:18 AM (in response to sopinnell@puhsd.org) I got this a lot just after we upgraded to V9.Turns out that all our old packages were setup not to use MSIExec, which seemed to be the problem. I went through them all and simply ticked the MSIExec option under install/uninstall options and they all started behaving properly.Hope that helps.Paul Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: Return Code Mapping in v9 sopinnell@puhsd.org May 25, 2010 8:33 AM (in response to PaulYates) I will give that a shot! Did you have to modify your return code mappings? Development > Visual Studio Setup and Installation Question 0 Sign in to vote I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 and I'm trying to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable. However, whenever I run the installation, everything goes fine until a point late in the installation where the green bar fills and I'm given the message "Publishing product information Feature: FT_VC_Redist_OpenMP_x64" and it simply stays like that. I left it for an hour and it did nothing, Google'd the problem and someone https://community.landesk.com/thread/11024 else seems to have a similar issue but they unhelpfully said that they "solved it". I've tried uninstalling it, downloading a new version of the installer, installing in safe mode/"Run as administrator"- nothing works. Anyone have any ideas? Firstly, I would suggest you to upgrade your Windows 7 to be "patched" up with the latest "fixes". If the above suggestion doesn't work, you might be required a machine to be restored or an in-place upgrade to be performed to recover it. For one quicker way to repair OS or restore the OS configuration to an earlier point. Here is a KB about this, please see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212/ Or if you have the original media, you can did a repair of Win7. I hope this helps! If you have any concern, please feel free to let me know. Best Regard

I've also tried running an elevated CMD and sfc /scannow but despite finding errors it wasn't able to fix them (even when in Safe Mode). I noticed via Googling that many of those posting this error were running Windows Server so many of the solutions posted didn't appear to be applicable? When I tried to install Adobe Acrobat XI again, I received the same error. I tried to implement the solutions reported in “Need to Reinstall Windows Installer in Windows 7” at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/need-to-reinstall-windows-installer-in-windows-7/4cb8e54c-5a4e-439d-9d46-1dcd387d2604. I have attempted the first three recommendations. The first and third were unsuccessful and the first three steps of the second recommendation were unsuccessful. I cannot implement the fourth step because I simply do not know what I am supposed to do.
