cache package NewsArchive07-01-1999, 12:00 AMI get this error when running my MSI file. I've tried it on both a clean NT machine and a clean Win2K machine. The exact error message is: Error 1906. Failed to cache package C:\WINNT\Installer\2794b.msi Error: -2147286788. I looked up the system error and the text of the message is: The name %1 is not valid While the dialog box is displayed, I can look in the c:\winnt\installer directory, and the file 2794b.msi exists and has the same size and timestamp as my MSI file. After I hit the Cancel button and the install rolls back, the file is deleted. What's going on?
