Transaction not started. Hi all, I am getting the error 2762 while trying to rollback an upgrade. I have two custom actions that start an installed service. In Script execution is set to Rollback in System Context(for the one immediately after InstallInitialize) & Commit in System Context(for the one just before Install Finalize) in InstallExecute sequence. While installation & upgrade everything works fine and the service is started as expected. But if the upgrade is canceled by the user, the error 2762 comes up while rollback is in progress and the service does not start up. Any pointers as to how this can be sorted out would be great. Thanks in advance... Deferred type custom actions need to be sequenced in the execute sequence between InstallInitialize and InstallFinalize. If you run MSI validation against your built MSI package, validation may report which action is sequenced incorrectly. I want to capture and validate and register user details during the installation process. I have created a dialog to capture user registration and invoking a custom action once user clicks on 'Next'. But here I am getting installer error 2762. Though the error description says that "The action must be scheduled between InstallInitialize and InstallFinalize", I am not able to figure out how to resolve this problem. Here is my XML script:

OK Application Install Hang during OSD Started by Schikitar , Aug https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/2672 05 2014 03:49 AM sccm application osd Please log in to reply 16 replies to this topic #1 Schikitar Schikitar Member Established Members 17 posts Gender:Male Location:Tasmania, Australia Posted 05 August 2014 - 03:49 AM Hi all, I have an error that has plagued me since, I think, upgrading to SCCM 2012 R2. msi error I have a handful of OSD's which I have setup and generally, they all exhibit the same issue at seemingly random times. I could have multiple machines on my bench all using the same OSD and a couple of them will hang during the installation of applications. So, it installs the Windows image, sets up the CCM client, rebootsand finishes the client install and then starts installing applications. When msi error 2672 it hits about the third orfourth application it just sits there and does nothing for as long as the machine stays on (no error). It seems to be something that happens after a fixed amount of time (not sure how long), probably ~10 minutes after the last reboot. It makes no difference how I order the apps to install. I've sorted the log list by date and time to try and find an error somewhere but I can't see anything. The really frustrating thingis, if I have a machine that is failing it will usually keepfailing repetitively but then suddenly it might start working and completed the TS all the way through. Can anyone give me any advice as to what logs I should keep a closer eye on (client/server) or if anyone has heard of anything similar. It's really frustrating when you have hundreds of machines to do! Sorry if I'm a bit light on info, I'm not sure what to provide as I'm still learning! Cheers! Opened 8 years ago Last modified 7 years ago The installation fail outside of the temporary directory on Windows Reported by: Oungawak Owned by: Priority: minor Component: installer Version: VirtualBox 3.0.4 Keywords: MSI install Cc: Guest type: other Host type: Windows Description The *.msi file cannot install VirtualBox properly when the user launchs it from any of his directorys (it says "can’t read the MSI file", I can't find the old ticket about this problem). The workaround to this problem is to copy it in the temporary directory of Windows and then to launch it from here, it’s not very convenient. I think you can make an *.exe which copy the MSI file in "%TEMP%" and run it. You can even add your logo to it. :) This problem appeared to me on Vista SP1 x64 with the 64bit version of VirtualBox 2.0.6 and 2.0.4.
