Answered 08/02/2004 by: AppDeploy.com Please log in to comment Please log in to comment 0 The Windows Installer Error 2714 occurs when there is invalid default value has been captured by the repackaging tool, for instance Window~\Windows\resource.... which is created in the temp folder when the application is installed while capturing and automatically deleted when the installation is completed but the repackaging tool has captured the same path which is not valid once the application is installed... this can be rectified by manually changing the default folder value in the Directory table also we have to see that no junk folder entry is captured in the create folder table... Hope this help is some scenarios as it did for me..yshariff Answered 06/25/2008 by: yshariff Please log in to comment Please log in to comment Answer this question or Comment on this question for clarity AnswerSubmit Don't be a Stranger! Answers 0 If you look in the Directory table, you'll see that none of the other entries have slashes - forward or backward - http://www.itninja.com/question/help-with-msi-2714 in them. Slashes are invalid in folder names, as most schoolboys know. Change the name to something without a slash e.g. 'Samples (Integration)' Answered 04/25/2008 by: VBScab Please log in to comment Please log in to comment 0 Thanks for your response.
