Data1.cab Error Re: Corrupt File Started by MiamiSteve , May 26 2011 http://www.theeldergeek.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44978 10:14 PM Please log in to reply 2 replies to this topic #1 MiamiSteve MiamiSteve TEG Forum Member Members 31 posts Posted 26 May 2011 - 10:14 PM OS: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM BIOS Version 1.80 64-bit - updated to version 6.1.7601 SP1 (Build 7600); Toshiba Laptop Configured @ 2.13GHz, 3MB L2 Cache; 4GB DDR2. I am at a moderate level of experience. Have a Kodak ESP3250 Printer. Was working fine until I responded to an auto mssg msi error that an update was available. Download was successful. In middle of install, get the following mssg: "MSI error occurs: Error 1335. The cabinet file “Data1.cab” required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package. (Code 101-1335)." This resulted in the program, somehow, becoming uninstalled. I know this because I went to uninstall and do a fresh install from original disk msi error occurs and the program is not listed on the program list anymore. However, there is a program folder in the x86 folder. Now, the problem is looping in that when I try to do a fresh install from disk, the disk automatically wants to go online to check for an update, which causes it to loop into the same cycle of downloading which then automatically cycles into installing, which then goes on to trip on the above-quoted error. Is there a windows registry cab file I can get to replace this one? I honestly suspect the problem is with the Kodak download, but I don't know enough to follow that gut-feeling hunch up. Kodak Support phone # is down(800-421-6699) and they haven't answered my webmail request yet. I am sure they're going to say it's an OS issue and restart, etc. They've never been much help other than to say, restart, reload, etc. Can anyone offer any work around on this issue? Thanks! Have you tried installing the updated full version
