When i try to download it with Opera or Firefox it downloads without a problem. If i try multiple times with chrome it keeps failing. What is causing this behavior? Could it be spyware, compatibility bugs am i one of the few or does this happen to most? It feels like this happens more often when I try to download from busy file hosting http://superuser.com/questions/836345/why-is-my-chrome-failing-to-download-some-files sites but I did not put sufficient research in this to say for sure. Gepubliceerd op 29 aug. 2013I am downloading the file having extension .msi of 49.9 mb in size. Download is in progress and when it reaches the completing stage, download stopped unexpectedly because of unknown network error. This is indicated by red in colour. But at the same time when i download pictures and mp3 files range from 1-10 mb in size, download completes without error. I don't know why microsoft installer file of size 49.9 MB failed at last percent (i.e 99) while waiting to save the file. Agno Registered Member Joined: Aug 31, 2008 Posts: 19 Every time when I download larger files (over 100 MB) around 110-140 I got a "unknown network error" and all the d/l's stops. I tried Chrome, IE and Firefox to same result. Only after disabling the firewall, the d/l's were able to complete succesfully. I reverted to the version 4 and the behaviour persists. I previously used previous version for years with no problem. As soon as I disable the firewall from ESET all works well. The lame firewall from Windows doesn't produce the problem either, only ESET. Anyone knows about a quickfix of this issue ? Someone suggested on a different generic forum something along "Upon careful investigation, it was found that the anti-virus's HTTP checking (port checking) option was responsible. Disabling this option permanently fixes the network error thing. Since only HTTP/Port-checking is disabled the anti-virus should still work normally" but I wouldn't know how to do the same with ESET. Thanks if you got any ideeas. A. PS As my luck goes, I just paid for another 2 years of updates, just before the annoying issue showed up. Mostly, I use the default setup of the application, only changed it to Interactive Mode. I checked the option you mentioned (never touched that one) and I'll give it a try tonight.
