Winscp Timeout Detected. (control Connection)
» Network error: Software caused connection abort While Connecting In a Middle of winscp timeout setting Session While Connecting You may get this message when connecting to a server for following reasons: Connection was blocked by connection has been unexpectedly closed. server sent command exit status 0 firewall. Please refer to FAQ. All reasons and hints for "Server unexpectedly closed network connection" apply to this error too. Advertisements: In a Middle of Session If you are getting the error in the https://winscp.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4095 middle of session, it means that Windows network code killed an established connection for some reason. For example, it might happen if you pull the network cable out of the back of an Ethernet-connected computer, a DHCP IP address renewal fails or changes the computer's IP address, or if Windows has any other similar reason to believe the entire network has become unreachable. Windows also generates this error https://winscp.net/eng/docs/message_software_caused_connection_abort if it has given up on the machine at the other end of the connection ever responding to it. If the network between your client and server goes down and your client then tries to send some data, Windows will make several attempts to send the data and will then give up and kill the connection. In particular, this can occur even if you didn't do anything, if you are using SSH-2 and WinSCP attempts a key re-exchange. The problem can be caused also by the firewall. Try to disable it temporarily to see if the problem persists. Refer to FAQ. It can also occur if you are using keepalives in your connection. Other people have reported that keepalives fix this error for them.1) If you find DHCPNACK errors in the Event Viewer, your DHCP server may be briefly denying your IP address, causing your existing connections to fail. Where possible, this can be addressed by reserving a specific IP address on the DHCP server (e.g. cable modem/router), setting that as the static IP address, and disabling the DHCP client service. 1) The text is copy of PuTTY User Manual or was inspired by it. messages.txt · Last m

I can connect to my server fine using PuTTY or ssh from windows cmd. The same goes for using secure FTP. I can connect to the server, get a list of files and everything is okay. The problem occurs when I try to send any quantity of data across the network. Whenever I attempt to transfer anything beyond a certain threshold, the connection fails and I see a network error connection 'Connection reset by peer' message. I have a sql file that is about 3 MB in my home directory. If I attempt to FTP it, it will begin the transfer and die after about 48k has been transferred. Then it will initiate a new connection and transfer another 48k. If I use PuTTY and open a session I can connect and login fine. If i attempt to cat file.sql again, the connection is terminated and I get a 'Connection reset by peer' message. Going from my local workstation to the server it's the same situation. I have quite a bit of source code that I need to commit to my svn repository hosted on the server, but the same 'Connection reset by peer' message appears. I know the problem is on my local workstation because I can use my wife's macbook and ssh to the server with no problems. I can ssh into a friend's linux box (using the same putty install) and sftp to my server from their and download the file, open another ssh session from his box to my server and cat the file. So, something is going on, but i'm not sure what. Does anyone have any ideas? Update I have been trying to figure this out some more, and it seems like there is a hard limit of the amount of data that I can transfer in a single

I've managed to upload 100 out of 250 files but any further transfer results in zero size files and the error message in the log below. It doesn't matter which file I try. I've tried using Filezilla 2 with the same result. I've tried using WINSCP with the same result. If I go through the manual FTP uploading on Joomla then it works so it seems to be something possibly on the client side. However, I have ZA which is configured to allow FZ to work (it's done so with the first 100 files). The only possibilities I can think of is that ZA closes the connection without notifying FTP (in which case how does one re-open it) or that the server space is full (I don't have info on the server host or allocated storage).Does anyone have any useful suggestions or help?Cheers.Code:Response: 220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [privsep] [TLS] ----------2011-05-14 18:13:46 3872 1 Response: 220-You are user number 4 of 50 allowed.2011-05-14 18:13:46 3872 1 Response: 220-Local time is now 18:14.
