Since there is no way to route ethernet cables to them I am raspberry pi network error invalid arguments using Tenda USB wireless adapters with them. Since the Pi (original Model B's, not the new Model B+) have limited current available for the USB ports, and that 1 port is used by a USB flash drive used for the OS and the other connects to a powered USB hub, the wireless adapters are plugged in to the USB hubs. The hubs have their own AC power so they don't overload the Pi's. The hubs currently have the wireless adapters, "powered by the hub" USB disk drives and either a USB IR receiver (on 1 of them) or wireless mouse (on the other). I hope that's enough background. What happens: the wireless network connections on the Pi's show as active on the OpenELEC configuration screen, but I can't ping the systems and when on the Pi's it's apparent networking has somehow stopped since when I go to weather it never retrieves anything. If I simply disable/enable the wireless on the Pi's then they are visible again and the weather works, etc.. They stay like this for a while, then they just disapear again. At 1 point quite a long time ago I tried putting in a ping to the router for every 5 minutes or so, and while it kept the networking "alive", it messes up playback in XBMC. The Pi's have a "reserved" IP address in the router, so whenever they come online they get the same IP address each time. The router side is one of those Comcast "one do

Libreelec Wifi Invalid Argument
10, 2014 Using 0.4.0-rc3 on a Raspberry Pi 512 MB with Edimax Wireless 802.11b/g/n nano USB Adapter I can't connect to my WiFi. Only message I get is "Invalid Arguments". Tested on two devices (Separate Raspberry https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2241881 Pi's, Wireless Adapters and SD cards) with a clean install on each. Signal strength is at 100 %, network is working fine on all other devices and both Raspberry Pi's worked without problems on Xbian and Arch Linux. Given advice in another Issue (Use shorter passphrase) is not possible for me. vulcanjedi commented Apr 10, 2014 silentsnake14, I haven't tried wifi on my Rasplex simply because I have a wired connection readily available https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/issues/225 right at it but I can try. Aside from that, is your SID being broadcast or is it hidden? Also does the SID have any unique characters like punctuation or spaces? I did have issues with OpenElec XBMC I'm not sure where you get the 'invalid arguments' I dont recall seeing that or not; was that in the OSD or in a log? silentsnake14 commented Apr 10, 2014 Thank for the fast reply! SSID is broadcasted and just 7 [a-z] characters, nothing special. Passphrase contains 32 alphanumeric chars. vulcanjedi commented Apr 10, 2014 Was this an issue pre RC3 and now no longer works or you just starting out on RC3? silentsnake14 commented Apr 10, 2014 Was definitely an issue before. I tried RasPlex some time ago (0.3.1 as far as I remember) and ended up with this problem. Switched back to Xbian for a while and decided to give RasPlex another try when RC1 was released. Since I really like RasPlex and it works great with Ethernet plugged in, I hoped I can solve the Problem somehow. Is there anything I can try to connect to WiFi manually via SSH or something? Some research showed that OpenELEC uses conman but didn't find a way to access it's configuration. NedtheNerd commented Apr 10, 2014 W

Many people have been struggling to get a wireless adapter working with their Raspberry Pi. Thanks to OpenELEC Operating System, it is now quite easy to configure WLAN inside XBMC. The installation procedure with Linux is a bit more advanced compared to the Raspbmc installation with Windows, so if you are not familiar with Linux or using a command line to install software, I would suggest trying the Raspbmc first. There are also instructions available to install OpenELEC with Windows at the Squirrel Hosting Blog. However, you still need to complete the step 3 in this guide to get the wireless connection working. Do you already have the Raspberry Pi and required accessories? If not, I have created a resource page where you can easily find the tested and proven components. So, let's get started… Step 1: Install a Linux distribution to a USB drive If you don't have a computer with Linux Operating System, start with this step. If you already have Linux, you can jump directly to step 2. Get a universal USB installer here. Launch the universal USB installer and select Xubuntu Desktop Linux distribution from the drop down list and tick download ISO. After the download is finished, browse to the file and select the xubuntu ISO. Select your USB drive letter and start creating the image. Reboot the computer and make sure that the booting order is USB drive first (you can change this from the BIOS settings). Select run Xubuntu directly from USB. Step 2: Download & Install OpenELEC on Raspberry Pi The latest sources for the Raspberry Pi OpenELEC images are archived here, where you can check the version number. After the Xubuntu has started, go to Menu > Accessories > Terminal Emul
