I've had Norton Ghost 15 for around a year, and had successfully used it for a number of months after I had gotten it. However, it had been a couple of months since I had last used it. When I went to use it today, it was giving me an error about not being connected to the service, or something to that effect. So, I figured I would try uninstalling it and reinstalling it, and see if that fixed the problem. However, on attempting to reinstall it, after the installation was completed, when trying to run it for the first time, it is giving me Error E1AD3212, saying that "You do not have sufficient privileges to perform this operation." Now, I only have one user account on my computer (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit), with administrator settings, and one of the first things I had done when setting it up was turning off all of the silly user controls and all that nonsense, so, I can't imagine it would be an issue with anything on that end (and, again, it had worked fine for months previously, and hadn't given this error until I had uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it). And, under Norton Ghost's Security Configuration Tool, everything's checked for Allow as well. I've tried following the information here: https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?OpenDocument=&build=Symantec&ct=us&docid=kb20100521112022EN_EndUserProfile_en_us&entsrc=CED_pubweb&error=12818&language=english&layout=Retail&lg=en&module=7038&product=NSR&pvid=f-home&q=E1AD3212&seg=hho&src=_mi&version=15.0 I'm not 100% positive Step 2 actually happened properly (I got the pop-up when loading that page and had accepted it, but not positive everything happened as it should have, and it's not sho

Solved Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery won't install; says "You do not have sufficient privileges" Posted on 2009-05-15 Storage Software 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 5,151 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-01 Last week I had to uninstall Symantec's Backup norton ghost Exec System Recovery (and Endpoint Protection) because it seemed to be causing some problems with another software program. This was no easy task since Windows could not uninstall it, Symantec would not help me (except for a $250 fee) and the manual method was pretty tedious. I now am trying to reinstall BESR and after it goes through all its setup/copying stuff and I then reboot, when it comes up and I try to continue the installation norton ghost 12 I get the message "E1AD3212: You do not have sufficient privileges to perform this operation." I tried running the installation as administrator (evern though I am always logged on as an administrator anyway) but that made no difference. Googling around, I found an article that supposedly addresses this problem and says: ********************* To resolve this issue: Add the logged on user to the Security Configuration Tool: 1. Click Start > Programs > Symantec > Security Configuration Tool > 2. Click on "Add." click on the logged on user account and add it to the Security Configuration Tool. Restart the Backup Exec System Recovery Agent Service: 1. Click Start > Run 2. Type in "services.msc" without the quotes
