1/w professional. All pc's will not let me install Norton Ghost. I get an error 1721 indicating the installer 'instmsiw.exe' is working with an incorrect version OS. I have checked all the web info; downloaded the current version from MS (it was the same ver 6.0.2448.0) and cannot get this to work. If I activate the executable by itself, it indicate it's the wrong OS. I ran a MS compatability check and none of the options work; 95,98/me,nt,2000. X/P is not one of the options even though Microsoft's web indicates that this is the correct program and version. I tried selective setup mode; had all startup programs turned off; I unregistered and reregistered the .exe, all without changing the condition. Symantec wants $30 for assistance but I don't think it's their problem. I need some new ideas. Thanks.
