com> Subject: Buffer I/O error on device sr0 Date: Sat, 09 Oct 2004 11:29:36 -0500 I used to think that the subject error in /var/log/messages dealt with sr_mod https://www.redhat.com/archives/rhl-beta-list/2004-October/msg00613.html not being loaded by udev in initrd. Maybe it still is, but https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5722 I notice that sr_mod is getting loaded by something now, because /dev/scd0 exists automatically. But I still get this error (see sample below). Possibly related is the fact that CD audio utilities can't seem to deal (completely) with audio CDs in my SCSI CD drive. ("It worked in FC2.") Data o error CDs appear to have no problems, but I haven't really tested thoroughly.
