I can also get it to work by adding a criterion to the query that limits all the results to those that occur before a certain day and time. It ONLY works limiting the query to before that particular time, not after an earlier time. If any of the records after that time are included, it overflows again. I have looked http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19099354/ms-access-overflow-error at the data that was entered after that time and it all seems fine, but I am not sure what exactly I should be looking for. The at_ID associated with the first record that causes it to fail is 32838 if that helps at all. vba ms-access access-vba share|improve this question edited Sep 30 '13 at 16:45 HansUp 79.3k114371 asked Sep 30 '13 at 16:36 philthyfool 74312 convert intAT to double. –Santosh Sep 30 '13 at 16:38 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted My guess is that intAT was declared as Integer type. But 32,838 is too large for an Integer. (Integer can hold numbers from –32,768 to 32,767) So it triggers error #6, "Overflow". Use a Long Integer instead. Dim lngAT As Long lngAT = Nz(DLookup("at_ID", "qryAT", "at_sc_ID=" & Me.sc_ID & " AND at_OT=0"), 0) share|improve this answer edited Sep 30 '13 at 17:28 answered Sep 30 '13 at 16:43 HansUp 79.3k114371 I believe, as per Access 2007, int gets implicitly dimensioned as a long. –Elias Sep 30 '13 at 17:03 That seems to do it. But, in order to avoid this problem in the future, do you have any idea why it works fine with numbers up to 32837? 32837 is obviously greater that 32767. –philthyfool Sep 30 '13 at 17:18 Are you saying the DLookup returned at_ID values between 32768 and 32837 inclusive, and those were stored in intAT without error? I don't b

The result I'm shooting for is that if [Production] is zero, indicate zero, otherwise compute the percent of collection. ([PP] is the amount collected and is a negative number in the table). Pretty stumped here... Thank you! The table doesn't have any null values so if there are no monies yet collected, it would be zero. Also the values at the time of overflow using watch was : Count = 32942, i=0,j=182....which basically means 181 iterations in the inner loop has been through and it gets stuck at 182nd iteration....I am not able to understand wat is overflowing...can someone plz help with the reason and the remedy? Only the final loop is used. Sub xyz() Dim i As Long Dim j As Long Dim Count As Double For i = 0 To 100 For j = 0 To 10000 Count = (i * i) + (j * j) + Application.WorksheetFunction.Power((i * i) + (j * j), 0.5) Next j Next i MsgBox Count End Sub Formatting tags added by mark007 MVP (Excel 2008-2010) "Provide sample data and layout if you want a quicker solution." - MD To help indent your macros try Smart Indent Please remember to mark threads 'Solved' Reply With Quote 02-28-2011,06:35 AM #3 Abhijeet View Profile View Forum Posts View Blog Entries View Articles VBAX Regular Joined Feb 2011 Posts 9 Location Ya i know that..i have to implement something similar elsewhere...so was testing with this snippet...Count may be overwritten...but why is there an overflow?
