I think https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa264525(v=vs.60).aspx everything is ok. There shows Run-Time Error '6' Overflow when i want to run this macro. Sub Działaj() Dim Tablica(1 To 5000) As String Dim Dni() Dim kolumna As Integer Dim wiersz As Integer Dim licznik As Integer Dim PF As Boolean Dim tmp As Integer Dim i As Integer Dim tmp2 As String licznik = 2 tmp = 0 PF = False kolumna = 22 wiersz = 2 Do If Worksheets("Początkowe").Cells(wiersz, kolumna).Value <> vbNullString Then For i http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20339067/excel-vba-overflow-error = 1 To licznik If Worksheets("Początkowe").Cells(wiersz, kolumna).Value = Tablica(i) Then 'debugger shows problem here i guess PF = True tmp = i End If Next i End If If Worksheets("Początkowe").Cells(wiersz, kolumna).Value = "koniec" Then Exit Do End If wiersz = wiersz + 1 Loop End Sub Can anyone tell me where i made a mistake? I would be very grateful. excel vba overflow share|improve this question asked Dec 2 '13 at 22:19 Domin1992 35118 1 One, you haven't set any value in Tablica(i). Second, if you don't find the value koniec, then the loop keep on until you grow out of your integer variable wiersz, around 32k. –nutsch Dec 2 '13 at 22:27 What do you mean saying "you haven't set any value in Tablica(i)", can you give me an example? Don't worry about "koniec" it will be at the end of all data in all columns. –Domin1992 Dec 2 '13 at 22:30 Sorry, you were right about "koniec" too :) Thanks. –Domin1992 Dec 2 '13 at 22:35 you're referencing If Worksheets("Początkowe").Cells(wiersz, kolumna).Value = Tablica(i), but at no point in your code prior to that line do you assign a value to the array, so Tablica(i) at that stage is an empty string. –nutsch Dec 2 '13 at 22:36 Yes for now. I am going to fill that table data from worksheet

Here is a small VBA (Excel) function that i overflow error wrote, full of MsgBoxes for debugging. I am passing in the numbers 10 and 1 as arguments, and getting an overflow error when the program reaches the top of the For loop, before it begins the first iteration. Any thoughts are appreciated. Declare Sub Sleep Lib "kernel32" (ByVal dwMilliseconds As Long) Function PerformanceTest(iterations As Integer, interval As Integer) As Double Dim st, tot, k As Double Dim n As Integer tot = 0# overflow error vba MsgBox "ok" k = iterations + tot MsgBox "ookk" n = 1 MsgBox "assigned" For n = 1 To iterations MsgBox n st = Timer Application.Calculate tot = tot + (Timer - st) Sleep (1000 * interval) Next n 'MsgBox (tot / k) PerformancTest = tot / k End Function vba excel-vba overflow share|improve this question edited Apr 19 '10 at 17:02 asked Apr 19 '10 at 16:39 mcoolbeth 2571415 Like others, I can't make "overflow" show up. I agree with Tomalak that could point to a problem outside the function. But if your code stalls at the point you say, then Tomalak's idea is hard to accept. –Smandoli Apr 19 '10 at 20:15 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted Redundancy removed, the essentially unchanged function runs without error in my Excel 2003 Function PerformanceTest(iterations As Integer, interval As Integer) As Double Dim st, tot As Double Dim n As Integer For n = 1 To iterations st = Timer Application.Calculate tot = tot + Timer - st ''# Sleep (1000 * interval) Next n PerformanceTest = tot / (iterations + tot) End Function So… the error you see is probably not within the function itself. P.S.: Pro tip: ;-) Use Debug.Print instead of MsgBox for debug
