is because the certificate on the server is a self-signed certificate (issued by the server itself). As I learned in the articlethe behavior is by default. Ufortunately, the workaround link is useless because it leads to a non-existing article. How do I specify a custom (issued by my CA) certificate to the RD install ssl certificate remote desktop services 2012 WebAccess site? Thank you in advance! Are the computers that try to access the RD Web in AD? Please look into this article: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2008/12/18/ts-gateway-certificates-part-ii-how-to-deploy-a-certificate-on-ts-gateway.aspx Setting up SSL for RD Web access is very much IIS related, so you need to follow this one as well: http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/144/how-to-set-up-ssl-on-iis-7/ Hope that helps. A demonstration of the problem I'm seeing can be found in Step #4. At this point I am convinced that there are problems with the user interface, and am looking for ways around them. Is there any way to configure certificates in Remote Desktop Services so http://serverfault.com/questions/476963/how-can-i-work-around-problems-with-certificate-configuration-in-remote-desktop that the settings hold and are reflected in the GUI? If not, is there any way for me to verify that the settings are correct? Step #1 - Create certificate to be used. I've configured a certificate to use with RD Web Access. The certificate is stored with in the Certificates MMC on my RD Connection Broker, and I am configuring the farm from that computer. I found by letting RD Web Access generate its own certificate that the following properties are required: Enhanced Key Usage Server Authentication Client Authentication This may not be required, but the self-signed certificate includes it. Key Usage Digital Signature Key Agreement Subject Alternative Name DNS Name=domain.com Detour about self-signed certificate generation As a quick detour, I was able to work around a problem with creating self-signed certificates using powershell. The documentation for the New-RDCertificate cmdlet gives the following example: PS C:\> $password = ConvertTo-SecureString -string "password" -asplaintext -force New-RDCertificate -Role RDWebAccess -DnsName "test-rdwa.contoso.com" -Password $password -ConnectionBroker rdcb.contoso.com -ExportPath "c:\test-rdwa.pfx" Typing this into the shell will result in an error message claiming that a function, Get-Server cannot be found. Prior to using New-RDCertificate, you must import the RemoteDesktop Module with Import-Module RemoteDesktop. Step #2 - Observe out-of-box behavior The first time you visit the Deployment Properties dialog box by navigating to Server Manager -> Remote Desktop Services -> Collections a

You'll need to configure RD Web Access to use a new SSL certificate. Here's how to install a certificate into RD Web Access: Double click your certificate and follow remote desktop the instructions to install it If the certificate you intend to use to secure RD Web Access isn't from a Trusted Certificate Authority, you need to run the certificate install and specify to store it as a Trusted CA Start IIS Select the server in IIS and click on Server Certificates Import the certificate from the action pane on the right hand side if it's not already listed Under Sites -> Default Website, select remote desktop services Bindings, Type: HTTPS and select the certificate from the drop down Click OK (you may get an error here, if so, close and restart IIS then reopen Bindings to ensure that the certificate has been added) If you used a certificate that isn't already in the client computers Trusted CA list, you'll have to install the certificate on all RD Web Access client machines. Note that if you didn't setup RD Web Access with a certificate originally, then you'll need to: Click Start -> Administrative Tools -> Remote Desktop Services -> RemoteApp Manager Under the Overview, you will see Digital Signature Settings, click Change Under the Digital Signature tab, select Sign with a digital certificate and click OK VN:F [1.9.22_1171]please wait...Rating: 9.7/10 (3 votes cast)How To Configure or Change An RD Web Access Certificate, 9.7 out of 10 based on 3 ratings Categories: Technology Tags: Certificates, RD Web Access, SSL Leave a comment Cancel reply Your email address will not be published. Now I have another server with Windows Server 2008r2 on it. I need to export the certificate in the SBS box, then import it in to the 2008 server for Remote Desktop Web Access. I've found a few sites that explain how to do it, that's easy, I just don't know what store to export from in the sbs box. Personal, Intermediate Certificate Authorities etc.....? I've tried both of the certificates from the stores I mentioned above, I go to IIS7 manager on the 2008 server and completed the certificate request. Now I have one certificate listed in IIS7. Imported fine. Changed the bindings to use the certificate. When I go to the site for rdweb https://serveraddress/rdweb it has a certificate error and it doesn't give me the option to "go to the site anyways (no recommend)" just the "click here to close this page" iis 7 rdweb access iis 6 certificate import export Reply Lloydz 2318 Posts Re: Certificate problem for RD Web Access Aug 28, 2012 10:28 PM|Lloydz|LINK Have you tried using ssldiag to see what is the exact error? And I suggest you also post in RD service forums where you may receive better help. Thanks. ‹ Previous Thread|Next Thread › This site is managed for Microsoft by Neudesic, LLC. | © 2016 Microsoft.
