If that doesn't cut it, I would strip, clean and reinstall Reader XI. Check other postings of mine on how to accomplish this - it's not hard. Just takes a little time. I recommend running a program that removes all traces of the programs. (I used Ibit Uninstaller)Reinstall in a different folder (don't miss the prompt to change the destination folder). This seems to solve most problems. Arthur Kerr Sheppard Edit Answer (for another -5 minute) I agree with just about everything you propose (personally, I use CCLEANER) except for the new folder bit. Be careful there in that it may be introducing more cruft left on the HDD than not. In summary: Uninstall the application in question. Reboot (yes, even under Win7 & Win 8). Use a cleaner tool to scrub the registry and file system. Reboot Install - try just using the default settings.. Thanks Doug Douglas Hanna Edit Answer (for another -7 minute) Go to Edit>Preferences>Security (enhanced)>Sandbox protections and deselect Enable Protected Mode at startup. See if that clears it up." This worked for me. Hopefully Adobe will fix the issue by the next release.
