Re: Error 1325? AK287 Sep 17, 2012 5:50 AM (in response to siniful101) I had this problem and spent hours trying to figure it out before solving the problem. In my case it came about after I moved my data to a new drive I called the F drive and installed a new main drive as my C drive and tried to set things up again. Mysteriously, the system then included references to a non-existence L drive and that is what stalled things, plus another proble (see below) - references to "My Documents" had been reased in the registry. I could not erase Photoshop, and could not reinstall it or Reader.Anyway, here is the solution I found.Basically, the difficulty in solving the problem is due to the arcane nature of the error message, which in my case said something like:Error 1325.Documents is not a known short nameIn other people's cases it might not say "Documents" - e.g., it could say "Favorites", or something else.Microsoft has a note about this that solves the problem if you know how to understand it, so here we go with my explanations. By Ricardo Falegnami Edit Answer (for another 7 minutes) It seems the same issue appearing in different guises; this is a common solution: http://www.itninja.com/question/another-not-a-valid-short-file-name-problem Not sure if an answer has been given to this issue and I hope I am not https://answers.acrobatusers.com/windows-7-Error-1325-Documents-is-not-a-valid-short-file-name-cant-uninstall-cant-update-q104398.aspx being redundant, but I had this same error and the problem was an invalid User Shell Folder under the registry key, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders. The element "My Pictures" was pointing to a drive letter that is no longer available. I reset the data to %USERPROFILE%\My Pictures, reran the set up program that was failing and no more error. similarly presented here https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1056040 http://superuser.com/questions/258239/error-1325-username-is-not-a-valid-short-file-name https://forums.adobe.com/message/4866219 https://forums.adobe.com/message/4888378 Finally, consider you can avoid manually fixing the Registry by running a scan-and-fix tool as suggested here: http://www.justanswer.com/computer/5no3a-receive-error-1325-documents-not-valid-short-file-name.html Ricardo Falegnami Please specify a reason: Spam Duplicate Moderate Content Other Questions Experts Within this topic Browse more answers Installation & updatesAcrobat ReaderCreate PDFEdit PDFExport PDFReview and CommentScan and OptimizeMobile PDFProtect PDFPDF FormsSign and Send PDFsCombine FilesPrint ProductionPDF StandardsAccessibilityJavaScript Try it yourself Try Acrobat DC Download the free Reader Get help Ask the community Stay connected Visit Adobe Document Cloud on Facebook Visit Adobe Document Cloud on Twitter Visit Adobe Acrobat on YouTube Visit Adobe Document Cloud on LinkedIn Visit Adobe Acrobat on Google Plus Co

How do I https://answers.acrobatusers.com/How-do-I-avoid-Error-1325-complete-update-installation-of-Adobe-Reader-10-1-5-q74316.aspx avoid Error 1325 & complete update installation of Adobe Reader 10.1.5? For about six weeks, Adobe Reader Updater - Adobe Reader (10.1.5) has failed to install citing Error 1325; one line info on failure says something about Documents not being a valid file name.I tried chatting this AM with Gangmei & did not get any useful information. The web address of the chat (which I printed) begins https: // sales.liveperson.net/hc/57472748/?cmd=file&file=chatTemplat ... & adobe reader that's all that printed. Thank you. Sandra Connor 1 Answer Edit Answer (for another -14 minute) Sandra,Wow - six weeks... that's not good.First option - download the current patches from here ---> http://www.adobe.com/support/download...There are two - 10.1.5 and 10.1.6 - download and install them manually. If that doesn't do it - I would suggest completely removing Adobe Reader - Add/Remove - Uninstall. Then reboot. Then, download the current full Reader installer from here - adobe reader error http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ Sush! Quiet - we aren't supposed to give this location out! (even though I have to Google it to remember where it's at :)Download the most installer for the version you want - X or XI (10 or SpinalTap er.. Eleven!). Close ALL your apps (browser, skype, itunes - everything you can) - Then double click to instal. If it asks you to remove the current one - say yes.Hopefully it will install correctly - no errors. Then reboot again.Test - see if that fixes your issue. If so, download the current patches from here ---> http://www.adobe.com/support/download...There are two - 10.1.5 and 10.1.6 - download and install them manually.Hope this helps.ThanksDoug Douglas Hanna Please specify a reason: Spam Duplicate Moderate Content Other Questions Experts Within this topic Browse more answers Installation & updatesAcrobat ReaderCreate PDFEdit PDFExport PDFReview and CommentScan and OptimizeMobile PDFProtect PDFPDF FormsSign and Send PDFsCombine FilesPrint ProductionPDF StandardsAccessibilityJavaScript Try it yourself Try Acrobat DC Download the free Reader Get help Ask the community Stay connected Visit Adobe Document Cloud on Facebook Visit Adobe Document Cloud on Twitter Visit Adobe Acrobat on YouTube Visit Adobe Document Cloud on LinkedIn Visit Adobe Acrobat on Google Plus Copyright © 2016 Adobe Systems Incorporated.
