Im running Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate with the first service pack. It is(or was) a fresh install. Almost adobe reader every game or application i start wont come up and launch, because all these applications have the same error. I already found out that one of the 2 RAM modules i was using was faulty, so new RAM is on the way. I did pull out the faulty strip and am now running on a single 4GB strip, but the same error keeps on adobe reader error occuring. I bet its a driver problem, but i have no idea which driver for what it is. I'd rather tackle the problem then reinstall windows and learning nothing off it, or that it will re-occur without me knowing what to do about it. So please, help me out here. I'l gladly supply you with more information. Before following the instructions make sure you have all your important data backed up to an external hard drive, CD/DVD's or flash drive just in case something goes wrong. Also create a System Restore Point For Windows 7 only. Please create a Recovery disc: Go to Control Panel and select Backup and Restore. In the left hand pane select Create a System Recovery disc and follow the prompts. Stop Automatic Restart so you can read any error messages. Click Start, select Control Panel select Sy
are having problems with Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0/9.0 crashing on our users when they try to print, either from a separate PDF file or one opened within a browser. There are various PC makes, but I believe all are running XP SP2. We here in the IS department have had no problems and have the exact same applications installed, so we're quite sure it is not a conflict in applications. Any insight on this? It started with one PC and now has affected about 4. We don't want this issue to go unresolved, but at this point the best solution seems to be to switch PDF viewing over to FoxIt Reader. You didn't give us the error when it fails. It isn't unusual for Adobe to put a bunch of hooks into other products - web browsers, word processors, etc. You also didn't mention what you are trying to print to. The printer driver may need to be updated. I would look at the event log on the computer where it is failing. I use Foxit on a couple of machines. It would be a good test to uninstall all of the Adobe stuff and give Foxit a try. 0 Sonora OP Derrek7316 Dec 16, 2008 at 2:28 UTC Sorry about the lack of detail. I wasn't able to pull up the error again in IE before this post, but the event viewer ID is 1000 and the message is: "Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2900.5512, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5512, fault address 0x000109f9." The only other error I see in the application log is from yesterday when the user tried to print it directly from Acrobat, which results in another Event 1000: “Faulting application acrord32.exe, version 8.1.0.137, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5512, fault address 0x000109f9." In searching online I see some possible fixes. Also, I am experimenting with file permissions to see if that is an issue. The computer in this instance had Reader 8.0, so i upgraded to 9.0 (to no avail). I looked at permissions and added a domain users to the ACL for Acrobat 9.0 with default permissions. 0 Sonora OP Derrek7316 Dec 16, 2008 at 2:48 UTC I gave up on Adobe and tried FoxIt Reader 3.0. It works like a charm and much much faster than Adobe. I'll keep researching to maybe help others in the future, but I think FoxIt is a reasonable soluti
