I thought I could get back to 10.1.9 by selecting "Check for Updates" after installation. Adobe Reader Error 1935
So I am trying to update Adobe reader 11.0.04 to 11.0.07 via Group Policy. I have done this 1000 times but I do not know if I am forgetting something simple or if something is just https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1393203 flat out broken. When I install the update after patching it with the steps below, I just get an error saying that it can not upgrade this version or the patch is missing. I have done the steps below 3 times now. I even tried to Uninstall 11.0.04 and install 11.0.07 using the exe file. Same error message. So 11.0.07 says it can update 11.X (any version that is greater than https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/495264-issue-with-adobe-reader-11-0-07-update 11.0.00). So I went to the Adobe FTP site and downloaded the two files I need according to adobe to do the update. Adobe Reader 11.0.00 MSI file and the 11.0.07 MSP file. Since 11.0.07 is a quarterly patch, I do not need any other files. Below is the copy and paste from the adobe site, I am following the one under reader labeled "Acceptable: 11.0.0 > 11.0.03 (Q)" which is Last MSI + Latest Quarterly (11.0.07 MSP) 8.2 Valid update patternsThe patterns below list the acceptable AIP patch patterns for Windows and Macintosh deployments8.2.1 11.x8.2.1.1 WindowsAcrobat pattern formula: Base release + latest quarterly + latest out of cycle patch)Acceptable: 11.0.0 > 11.0.01 (Q) > 11.0.02 (OOC)Acceptable: 11.0.0 > 11.0.03 (Q) Reader pattern formula: Last MSI + latest quarterly + latest out of cycle patch) Acceptable: 11.0.0 > 11.0.01 (Q) > 11.0.02 (OOC)Acceptable: 11.0.0 > 11.0.03 (Q) Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions Reply Subscribe View Best Answer RELATED TOPICS: Problem with Adobe Reader 11.0.03 update Adobe Reader Update Deployment Issue Update Adobe Reader from 11.0.06 to 11.0.09   14 Replies Pimiento OP Insight May 15, 2014 at 3:50 UTC I'm having the same issue. In a small environment, this may not be a problem, but in a larger environment, this can generate a lot of unnecessary support requests when adobe reader error a user that doesn't have Admin rights gets a UAC prompt that wants Admin credentials. Here's how to disable the Reader update checks so that your end users don't see messages like this: Let me start with my standard warning about disabling the update utility for 3rd party software: You still need to update 3rd party software just like you would install monthly updates from Microsoft unless you have a really good reason not to. This tutorial is intended for systems administrators that are using some kind of systems management product for updating 3rd party software like SCCM, Landesk, etc. Many of the security flaws in 3rd party software can lead to malware infections and/or compromised computers. If you disable the update notifications, you still need to keep the software up to date!
