I run into the same thing attempting to install the latest version using the full installer.H: is mapped to a user folder on the network. The My Documents folder is pointed to "H:\My Documents" and is ONLINE. The Adobe help page says the error occurs if the drive is unavailable but it is not, I have full https://forums.adobe.com/thread/737476 access. It mentions setting permissions on the folder for "Everyone" but this is the most insecure thing I have ever heard. These are user's directories on a Windows server, we cannot just set permissions to Everyone. Please advise.Thanks. Re: Error 1327 Installing/Updating Reader dapphp Oct 13, 2010 9:16 AM (in response to shashi.kant) Hello,The drive is valid and being used so we cannot just change the shell folders in the registry, the user's documents folders are stored on a server and that is where the H: drive points to. It is valid and online so I do not understand the error or why the installer even needs to use the H: drive. Thanks Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. There are some people reporting they are using it with no serious issues (on the Adobe User to User forums), but there are many others who are experiencing a adobe reader variety of problems. Vista support will be available in a patch to Acrobat 8 products, but Adobe has not said yet when the patch will be released.Hope that helps,Dimtiri MunkirsWindJack Solutionswww.windjack.com Dimitri Munkirs WindJack Solutions pdfscripting.com Top 2007-07-18 10:24:53 #2 dthanna Registered: Sep 28 2005 Posts: 248 Update - With the release of Acrobat/Reader 8.1, the product line is now supported on Vista. You aren't answering the question. As he mentions, it has to do with the fact that during installation, you change identity from your user to administrator, thus losing all your drive mappings. So if, say, "Documents" is on a network share, the installer wonders where it went. Makes sense in theory but is mucho annoying in practice. So here's how you solve it:1. Disconnect the previously mapped network drive from Windows Explorer.2. Right click on Command Prompt in the Start Menu and select Run As Administrator.3. Type "Net Use y: \\servername\sharename"4. Exit out of the command prompt5. Open Windows Explorer6. Click 'Map network drive' menu item7. Select the y: drive and typed \\servername\sharename into the Folder box.Not very intuitive, but it works!EASIER WAY: If you already have a mapped network drive, just do steps 2-4 and it should work...essentially you map it once for the user, once for the administrator.
