There is a suggestion that there is too much junk on the computer that needs cleaning including remaining items from an uninstall of AVG. The installation of Adobe Reader could be conflicting with other programs that are running on your machine. I would suggest performing a clean boot in Windows 7 and see if that solves the problem.
