We did a little research, followed all of the https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/32271d63-637a-4de2-9ab9-ec0be5494dc5/microsoft-sql-server-error-10061-or-port-problems?forum=sqltools advice we found online, and all of our settings seemed right. Out of desparation, we added the port that IP/All displayed in the server registration and...it worked. Now, I thought the the SQL Browser (or Agent, I forget) provided the port to which a process that was connecting needed to connect. No one changed any Sql Server or any other settings for that matter any time recently. Can someone shed some light on this for me?
