Posted http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/topic/77515-winsock-error-%2310061-cant-access-a-server/ 19 December 2008 - 09:28 AM I've got a file stored on my high school's server. I tried to access the server today to get that file, using FTP Commander Deluxe, and I get an error: 500 connection refused (Winsock Error #10061) I've never gotten this before, but after searching the internet, my best guess is that the school has shut down it's server for the holidays... Could that be what it is? And is error 10061 there any way I could get the file I need from the server? It's a .csv Thanks This post has been edited by steevo301: 19 December 2008 - 03:42 PM Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0 Back to top MultiQuote Quote + Reply Replies To: Winsock Error #10061 - Can't access a server! #2 jjsaw5 I must break you Reputation: 92 Posts: 3,060 Joined: 04-January 08 Re: Winsock Error #10061 - Can't access a server! error 10061 connection Posted 21 December 2008 - 08:42 PM Have you ever done this before? Sounds to me like this is something they don't want you to be able to do, and there is securtiy in place to prevent you from doing it. If this is the 1st time you are trying this, i probably wouldn't do it again because to me this doesn't sound like something that would go over too well with your school. Trying to access their servers via FTP, they could get you for hacking. But like i said i don't know the specifics of this, just my assumption.
