So I might end up posting some semi-usless information, but I'm

just trying to give what ever details I can. The Issue: I'm trying to build a project, and I'm getting the following errors and warnings. The Question: What would I have to do, and or get, in order to start working with c++ in linux, within an IDE? Fixing the error would be great, but the above stated is my underlying goal. I don't need a gui therefore I installed Eclipse CDT on Ubuntu 13.04 and want to cross compile a program which uses socketcan. With the provided gcc-arm-linux-gnueabi installation from ubuntu I can compile a hello world program and it works fine, but I get errors when I want to use ioctl() because
gcc and I get the following error: **** Build of configuration Debug for project HelloWorld **** make -k all Building file: ../main.cpp Invoking: GCC C++ Compiler https://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-297256.html g++ -O0 -g3 -Wall -c -fmessage-length=0 -MMD -MP -MF"main.d" -MT"main.d" -o"main.o" "../main.cpp" /bin/sh: g++: not found make: *** [main.o] Error 127 make: Target `all' not remade because of errors. Build complete for project HelloWorld I guess it can't find g++? :-k josys36November 11th, 2006, 03:02 AMHave you tried to install the package build-essential? Jason rvickersNovember 11th, 2006, 03:09 AMWhat do you mean by "package error 127 build-essential"? Thx qamelianNovember 11th, 2006, 03:19 AMWhat do you mean by "package build-essential"? Thx Unless you install the build-essential metapackage, you won't have g++ on your system. In a terminal windoe, do the following: sudo aptitude install build-essential. This will install the most common packages needed to compile programs from source code. rvickersNovember 11th, 2006, 03:27 AMOk, thanks... mkrahmehApril 20th, 2008, 08:07 PMthe
